I have to admit I have done a U turn on McCrory over the last year. He is the only one talking sense most of the time. Johnny nelson can be difficult to understand being as he using has his tongue lodged up someones arse. I never thought I would say this but I think I prefered watching him fight than as a pundit. and he was ****ing aweful to watch fight!!!
Mc*******s got away with the final question about a rematch went on a rant and ate the time... Adam smith poor.
Adam Smith and Nelson have been really poor. Nelson keeps throwing Degale in there (though for once on ringside dont think he did). As a lot of people have mentioned they constantly overtalked groves and at one point virtually ignored him in the studio. Fed up with Nelson as you can probably tell.
Your missing the point dude. No problem with backing Carl I would expect him to do this. But lying about an event recorded on TV is not going to cut it with anyone. How can you say Froch had recovered 5 seconds after sitting on his stool when he spent the first 6 seconds repeating 'F*ck me.....Fu*ck me'
I can understand any trainer talking some bollocks on behalf of their fighter, we hear it before fights more than we do after but Robert McCracken is just taking the **** if he thinks he can gloss over what we all saw with those blatant lies and then throwing in "Groves was excellent". We all know Groves was excellent and we all know Froch is as tough as they come, being able to absorb punches like Froch did was very impressive but you shouldn't give Froch rounds for being punched in the face and being able to stand upright like two of the judges obviously did (76-75)... As for the abuse after the fight... as irritated and annoyed as I was I can't agree with spitting and throwing drinks over Froch or McCracken and I can't agree with death threats aimed at Howard Foster and his family.
From what I can see nobody has suggested Rob McCracken should tell the entire truth on the fight and by doing so throw Carl and the rest of the Froch camp under the bus. What he should have said was that a carl was coming back into the fight and they feel he would have got to GG as the fight wore on ala Taylor and the referee robbed them of what they felt would have been a decisive victory. They haven't done that though as the entire camp are dodging a rematch like the plague. Carl Froch in ducker shocker! I've always felt that his 'fight anyone' reputation was a bit over egged anyway. Pascal was for a vacant title and would have been against Taylor if Taylor wasn't fighting Lacy. The shot Taylor fight then happened after and then there was the super 6 which mapped out a series of fights for him. Would he have taken those fights of his own accord? He didn't get 'robbed' in Demark either and the loss had **** all to do with the ash cloud. Another pathetic excuse. Bute was over-hyped as many suspected and Froch took that fight out desperation after the ward loss. This was then followed by beating the very shopworn Kessler in the rematch. He then defended against Mack in a pointless fight and then his mandatory. Bute aside he had very little say in making any of the impressive fights in the tough run he had. Oh and he got another gift against Dirrell and AA and Glen should lose to any genuinely world class fighter let alone an 'international superstar'
Hearn should be desperately trying to get Groves under contract. It's in Sky's best interest to cover the fallout of this fight fairly. Apart from Groves is anybody THAT interested in Froch fighting anyone else? Ward? He'll lose. Kessler? Those two fights are vastly overrated. Golovkin? Meh. Carl would go in an underdog and probably lose. Chavez jr? Fight means nothing. Carls wave has been broken. Georges is just beginning. Sky should start capitalising on Georges success and make him into a Sky brand. VIVA LA GROVES!
All credibility gone. This was the man who trained boxers for the olympics and stood for what is right. Now he is a liar just like the rest of Eddies team.
McCracken is either a complete liar or a delusional and very questionable boxing tactician. I'll let others decide on which.
don't try to pretend this is about adopting the moral high ground. by all means condemn a premature, panicky stoppage, but this is a thread slagging off 1 of britain's most accomplished trainers for daring to suggest his fighter recovered more quickly than posters believe. 1 of a myriad of whining, conjecture-filled threads. grown men are behaving like schoolgirls and it is utterly ****ing pathetic.
'Conjecture filled'? That's the whole point, what McCracken is saying isn't factual. Froch didn't recover from the Knock out after 5 seconds sitting on the stool - watch the footage, he didn't have a clue where he was and was still dazed at the start of round 2 (fair play to Froch from getting up from that shot tho). He also didn't 'stay out the way and box' - see rounds 2,3,4,5 & 6. The only conjecture comes from McCracken. It's not whining it's about not accepting the propaganda line from Sky/Eddie and pointing out George Groves achievement. Your quite happy to have all these terrible decisions in British boxing and have 'respected figures' from Boxing support them then....
