Nothing remotely "clear" about it. Sillakh out-jabbed him in the first minute or so and then Kovalev started timing him with the jabs and right hands leads on the body while Sillakh's output began to drop in the last ninety seconds. It was the very definition of close, unless you are scoring with stylistic bias as it sounds like some of you were.

Just because the taller guy is bouncing around, using movement, and 'looking the part' of the out-boxer doesn't automatically mean he is outscoring the puncher.

 

Noticed that too. It was apparent that Kovalev didn't quite understand and he's not exactly to blame given how convoluted Max phrased the questions.
