Ward will stay at 168 and Oakland for the rest of his career. He's talented but he needs to fight away.

Ward is on the A side. Why does he have to move up? In a perfect world Ward moves up and fights these guys but this is business. He's the man at 168 and p4p #2. He doesn't need to drop everything he's earned and take huge risks in a division he's not best at. That's for guys on the B side. Ward will move up when he can't make smw no more, not just to chase a fight.

Funny................Ward and his fans want all the other fighters to go up in weight, but Ward refuses, Hell, Ward even refused to fight Stevenson at 168! Ward refuses to fight anywhere except his home town, with his referee, judges, boxing commission, commentators, etc.

Kovalev or Stevenson are two options, who are the options at 168? Ward has little to prove at 168, really.

He can have it in his own backyard, ref and judges don't matter when you're on your back.

    160-175 - 15lbs
168-175 - 7lbs (and Ward can't make middle which Hagler could).

Surely he wants recognition though, no one cares about him anymore. He's got no one to fight at 168, he's already dragged Dawson down from 175, and I can't see anyone else coming down for him. If he fights people coming up people will just accuse him of fighting blown up middleweights.

How long can he stay at P4P No.2 for if he has no one good to fight, he needs to challenge himself, not constantly rock up in Oakland fighting well inside his comfort zone against sub standard opposition because he doesn't have enough pull to get one of the big names at 168 back in a ring with him.

Who wants to go into an almost guaranteed beating in someones backyard for peanuts? That's why the Froch fight won't get made, Dirrell seems to not want to fight anyone, ever, Kessler is past his sell by date. In all honesty who is he going to fight at 168 that's respectable and affordable? Oh and is willing to go and fight in Oakland.

Don't get me wrong Ward IS the best super middle, but he has no draw and won't fight outside CA, so theres no fights out there for him. His promoter doesn't seem to have particularly deep pockets either, there must be a reason he's only fought twice since 2011 afterall.

He's only fought in Oakland like 5 or 6 times.
