this guy kovalev has never impressed me. his record is one of the most misleading i've ever seen. to begin with. in his four biggest fights, he has gotten very lucky. to begin with, both campillo and boone looked like complete shiit. cleverly looked scared and intimidated and barely put up a fight. i gave sillakh a shot at upsetting him, but apparently sillakh is one of those guys who if you touch him on the chin, his legs get all rubbery. kovalev has an impressive amateur record. but based on what i see, he sucks. he's slow of hand and foot. his defense is porous and he stands sraight up. he's one of those guys who seems so mediocre i kinda wonder how come he hasn't been soundly defeated yet. and it's probably because he hasn't fought a quality fighter with a chin, stamina and a good punch, who can move and counter and mix up combinations. andre ward would take kovalev's head off....come to think of it, i would give b-hop a shot at beating him too. and if kovalev makes the mistake of getting in there with stevens he's gonna get knocked out.

Sounds like someone is ignorant of boxing skills....................Kovalev is truly awesome, great timing, power, chin, he knows how to fight..............

This is a bizarre opinion. Probably there is someone out there who could beat him. Ward possibly, Stevenson perhaps (Stevens doesn't have a hope), but you don't become a titlist and accumulate Kovalevs kinda record by being 'so mediocre'.

Everything you say about Kovalev could be said about Stevens too. Both aren't exactly technical fighters but tough guys with power, guts and aggression - and you know what? That isn't exactly bad for boxing.

Yeah, no way he could actually be a good fighter, just got completely luck in every one of his fights.

i'm not saying he's not exciting...i'm saying he's a second rate fighter who just seems to have gotten very lucky by facing very weak comp. boone looked completely shot. offbalance, swinging wildly like an amateur. campillo looked horrible. i don't think he even threw a punch in the first round an a half...then the announcer said he hadn't even trained for the fight. if that was true, it showed. even so, it's not like kovalev looked good beating either of them. cleverly, like i said, seemed like a deer in the headlights. and sillakh just has a glass jaw. i can't waith for kovalev to fight a solid guy like froch or even bute. let him beat somebody who is still viable and who has some world class skills like a strong chin then i'll be convinced ...until then he's just a lucky son of a gun.

it may seem bizarre because of all the hype right now surrounding kovalev, a fighter who really hasn't faced top-notch comp. i guarantee you kovalev gets in there with a decent guy like bute who outboxes him for 12 rounds and you'll be talking about kovalev's flaws were allways obvious. funny how people are all over this guys nuts for doing absolutely nothing but those same people want to say broner hasn't beaten anybody. stevenson is not the most skilled guy either...but stevenson is quick and fast. he would beat kovalev to the punch and knock his slow ass out.

You cannot be serious, kovalev would decapitate bute, it would be horrific.

If this is your real account and not an alt I suggest you stop using it because you now have no credibility on this site. Awful post.

What's you view and Stevenson then? Cause for some reason you bring up Curtis Stevens.
