I also think he looked at his best then. I am by no means a khan fan but can remeber watching him training with roach and begrudgingly admitting to myself **** he's good now. And it's been said many times but he had definitely regressed hugely under Virgil Hunter whilst he has always been vulnerable and always will he has lost all his offence which was his strength. I think he could get back to his best with a change in trainer but he seems to be falling out of love with the sport and think is starting to think he has been as far as he is going to go

He has NEVER wanted to fight Manny, fact.

People can applaud him for fighting Alvarez, but were the TV bigwigs going to let him fight a RG or JMM again? Come on!:lol:

Talent and body wise he could last in the sport for a long as he likes, but I think he likes being a celebrity too much. He wants the Mayweather fight more for the fame than the actual chance at glory. This is just my opinion but I think he's sick of boxing, he'll fight Mayweather - lose. Then probably have another fight - win. Then retire. Unless he's skint we probably won't see him in a ring again.

OH MY GOD, did he fight a decent challenger at a weight class (well close, even though Floyd don't believe in catch weights :?) where he already held a world title. What a shocker! :patsch

He looked like a semi shot fighter against Julio Diaz so I don't think we'll see much of him by the time he reaches 30

He will be out of boxing by 30 at the latest IMO he has made plenty of money & he certainly won't improve as a fighter.

gotta agree,Khan looked razor sharp with Roach and without getting caught up in stupid battles he could be held up in high regard now instead of being known as a bit of a joke really...Hunter and WArd look like a match made in heaven ,with Hunters old skool rough house tactics but its plain its not working with Khan.
Khan needs a new approach to get best out of him in whatever time he has left in boxing

Emmanuel Steward would have been the perfect trainer if he was alive. He would have fine tuned his jab and improved that defence of his. Basically tighten up and improve on what he has already. No idea why he stands and trades with that chin of his.

As for the Floyd fight, he has the tools to give him some headaches. He has very good speed, a very good jab, reach and height. If the fight does happen, what kind of game-plan would Hunter employ for him. Hunter seems to be a very smart trainer.

totally one 100% agree with laz

Khan has a good jab but doesn't always use it. He needed calming down in the ring which Manny did with WK. Get the basics right was always Mannys idea and I think he would have been a great fit for Khan. Such a shame hes gone

Khan did great under roach when he had him raiding in and out land a cluster then move out the way reset and go again - but he didn't teach how to behave when someone was on his chest or what to do when under pressure. He probably hasn't got many fights left bad KO's to Prescott and Garcia every one knows if you can get to him you can get him out of there and the last two undersized guys hes fought have tagged him hard and often. Mayweather will stop him after having a look for around or 2 then Khan will just be a name.

That said hes anything but a joke - hes in and around world class. Excellent wins over Kotelnik, Paulie, Zab, Maidana and probably should have won against Peterson he just wont live up to the hype the british press gave him but he got to hold a championship belt for a bit

Agreed. The way Steward fine tuned Wlad was great. He tightened up his defence and got him fighting behind that jab ALL THE TIME. Khan should ALWAYS fight behind his jab. Also he's got a poor inside game for an elite fighter and still panics when put under close proximity pressure. Lets see if he's learnt a thing or two with Hunter, after all, Ward is such a very good inside fighter. Maybe he needs to train with some MMA fighters and learn some inside grappling with them. His grappling skills are also poor.

laz you were doing so well up to the MMA bit!!!
sometimes it seems you cant take a boxers instinct away from them ,just look at Froch .and Khans first instinct when tagged is to fight which everyone in the world can see is the wrong thing to do yet time and again he does it.even against Diaz which was supposed to be a nice fairly routine fight for him he got caught up in a battle
