Today, the WBO decided to officially designate Alex Leapai as Wladimir Klitschko's official mandatory.

    https://twitter.com/WorldBoxingOrg

They have given Leapai and Klitschko 30 days to negotiate, or it will go to purse bid.

So Wladimir Klitschko's next opponent will be Alex Leapai, unless he vacates the WBO belt (which he likely won't).

Good for Leapai he is no worse than some of Klitchko's last few opponents barring Povetkin.

I still think Klitchko will win by KO early.

    You guys :verysad

Well done to team Lionheart for sticking to their guns and sticking it to the keyboard wankers who put him down for his last few opponents :bbbYou can only fight who is put in front of you, Noel has done a great job and secured a barny of a fight with the dollar$ that Leapai deserves proudly representing Australia and Samoa :deal

This Cements Alex Leapi as The Premier Heavyweight in Oz boxing especially with David Price Vacating the Commonwealth Title so looks like Lucas Browne will fight some Patsy for it here in Australia, but at least it will be good for a Aussie to hold the title..but still would love to see leapi Vs browne ...

Alex could be the best thing that's happened to Australian boxing in over a decade. We've needed a genuine quality Heavyweight for a very long time.

He proved a lot in his last fight and any Heavyweight in the world would be cautious of him after seeing the power he possess.

If he wins a world title, which he has atleast a punchers chance of doing, aussie boxing is back on the map!

I hope a Leapai-Browne match-up doesn't happen anytime soon because it'd be so much bigger if they both achieve a little more first. Might be getting a little carried away here but imagine a Leapai-Browne WBO title fight!

Not jealous at all, neither am I a calf or one who lacks spirit or self-confidence.

I am sure though that this fight will be a complete mismatch and Leapai is KO'd within 2 rounds, 3 at the outside...
