"No it wasn't" because of your prediction about how oddsmakers would favor these fighters against each other back then and now?. Now that's one unique way to respond, I'll give you that.

Cotto was one of the best fighters at the weight when Mayweather was at 140?, did you exist back then or just typing in crap?. Cotto was still an up-comer who was clearly green and still being established. He sure as hell wasn't one of the best fighters back then.

Hatton fight was supposed to be made but was turned down by Hatton his self who first demanded that the fight takes place in England then later his father came out admitting Hatton needs two or three more fights to be ready for Mayweather.

This hardly had anything to do with Arum who would have been glad to sign Cotto vs Mayweather and keep things in his stable but didn't because he knew Cotto wasn't ready for a fight like that yet and everyone(that existed) at the time easily agreed.

Nonsense. Sure, they did leave him but after being established and hyped well enough by Arum. I'm not an Arum fan or supporter and never been but the truth is the truth. Arum was paid to make/hype/build these guys and carried them far enough for them to consider independence.

I'm not here to play defender or offender, I'm merely discussing boxing as I see/saw it. Cotto in 2005 wasn't ready for Mayweather, Cotto started to establish his self on a serious scale in 2007 when he moved to 147 and beat Judah and Mosley. A discussion can be made that Mayweather didn't fight him back then and I'm fine with that discussion though would easily disagree since Arum already planned for Cotto vs Concreto and never made any serious offers to Mayweather. All they did back then was bark through the media and Mayweather didn't care much to respond especially after his big win over DLH. Did Mayweather duck Pacquiao?, yes he did and I won't even bother to defend him there because there's nothing to defend. Did he duck Concreto and Cotto?, I'm not sure he did. It was more Arum using Mayweather to hype these guys(specifically Concreto) because he left him.

Mayweather was a champion in 3 weight divisions at that point, Cotto had 20 fights in total, that's what I meant. I do agree though that Mayweather belonged in that category in terms of newspaper/poster hype, definitely not in-ring experience because he was way ahead of Cotto at that point for obvious reasons.

I never said JMM was a joke fight, I always liked that fight and had no problems with it. The majority were obviously against it.

Both Ortiz and Guerrero were joke opponents so please don't even try to justify these clown fights. Ortiz didn't even know how to properly headbutt for crying out loud, he was jumping on Mayweather like a damn kangaroo, even women in the crowd spotted it. Guerrero had zero hope from the opening bell as I expected he won't. Both styles were perfectly picked to make Mayweather look good and have a relaxing night of throwing whenever he wants and landing whenever he wants. You can defend these trash fights all you want, the fights themselves will prove you wrong.

Are you ******ed?. Pacquiao was coming off a knockout loss and forced out of boxing due to that, which explains his inactivity. Did you expect him to return and fight your entire family overnight?. Get a ****ing grip. Don't even compare Ortiz-Mayweather to Pac-Rios because both situations are completely different.

Pacquiao isn't the only great fighter who returned from a horrific defeat to fight an easy stay-active opponent. Here's a list of Pacquiao's opponents since moving up to 140+: DLH, Hatton, Clottey, Cotto, Mosley, JMM x2, Concreto and Bradley. One easy fight after coming off a brutal loss and a bumpkin is complaining.

This is all fair and it's a moot point since he got in the ring with a good version of Cotto anyway in 2012 coming off of W's.

Concreto was paid step aside money, it's probable that Floyd ducked Concreto, but should we really care about Concreto considering what has unfolded about him since then? That was also at a time when mayweather just got to 147 and Concreto was a LMW slimmed to 147.

The rest of it is a wash. Pac was ducked, it's a shame.

My main complaints with Floyd Mayweather is the 2003-2005 period of doing very little post-Castillo and then the layoffs and retirements when 147 was hot in addition to ducking Pacquaio. Other than that, his body of work is good, although quite weaker compared to other ATGs that he's compared to.

The negatives that I mentioned there though are pretty notable negatives.

It's so funny thinking what would happen to you if an elite boxer sucker-punched you twice. Don't worry, he would probably let you bring the laptop into the ring if it would bring you some comfort.
