I like this fight and hope it gets made, their styles match up nicely. I think Jennings wins this one and probably by ko. Szpilka's chin would let him down here.

    This is a GREAT fight.

Similar to Perez vs. Abdusalamov, really, in that it positions someone to be taken very, very seriously moving forward.

    Not yet.

But both fighters and both promoters are willing.

There seems to be some kind of disagreement from HBO, but I don't think they've flat-out turned it down.

One Polish journalist suggested it might be on Showtime instead of HBO. I find that difficult to imagine, since Showtime is basically Golden Boy's boxing network now.

So he is already legit but you wont give Szpilka credit if he beats him.

Neither is proven legit and both are at around the same level in there careers at this point. It's too early too call either a future anything but rather 2 guys to keep an eye on.

I have followed Szpilka way more than Jennings, here is my intake:

Jennings won't have enough power to TKO Szpilka. Sure he can maybe knock him down because Szpilka's defense is poor but this would not end with Jennings winning via KO. No way. Szpilka loves a brawl, he is similar to Chisora. The dude loves to get hit, that's what motivates him. In the future that won't help him but for now he's still winning fights that way.

Szpilka may get knocked down, but he'll get right back up and be even more amped up. Just watch the Mollo fights. Jennings does not have a power shot like Mollo did. Mollo put his whole life savings into those punches lol

FYI - Szpilka was a soccer hooligan and that's how he was found, this dude loves scraps. This will be a great fight. Jennings better know that he has to go through the trenches in this. We will see who has more heart!

I see this as an HBO fight as well and would be pretty surprised to see it on Showtime, if it does happen.

But, GBP does have a handful of heavyweights on its roster so setting up one of their fighters against Jennings would make some sense.

Szpilka's promoter - Wasilewski - says they are in advance talks with HBO. I think this will happen in USA. Szpilka won a lot of fans with his ESPN2 wars with Mollo and Jennings is an American fighter with a perfect record. I just wonder where this will take place, I will try to attend!

Both have flaws. Szpilka with his defense, low gaurd and iffy chin and Jennings with his lack of power and experience.

IMO Jennings has never seen a awkward Southpaw like Szpilka while Jennings is orthodox something Szpilka has already seen whether it be at pro or AM level.

Tough fight to call. On one hand I can see Jennings taking advantage of Szpilkas short comings and lapses in defense. On the other hand I can see Szpilka pressuring Jennings and slowly break him apart, taking some punishment along the way, assuming he can move with him.

For me with the knowledge of both fighters I think its close to 50/50. Szpilka for a few fights not has not impressed me much, he seems to make the same mistakes over and over again. Perhaps he needs to change trainers. Not a big fan of Łapin, who trains like 90 boxers at once.

Hope it happens. Will really be a good test for both fighters. Not to mention a solid fight.

They come a little slower than the norm when from Indiana.

Going to Indiana is like taking a step back into the 90's. Hammer and Vanilla Ice still get radio play there.

"Whoomp there it is" is the current hot phrase on the streets.:yep

Jennings hits like a middleweight and is currently a total non factor in boxing.

Wilder gets put down for fighting pig bellys , but at least its better than laying around on the couch.

This is a really great fight. I'm a big Szpilka fan, but this is a true 50/50 fight
