49-0 is the # Marciano stopped at, few tried to surpass it & did only to lose later

    Finite being the only exception

Then the 48-0 guys who started talking retirement...

    Larry Holmes
    Dariusz Mweski
    Paulie Spadafora
    Chris John

If he completes his contract with Showtime and never loses, he'll be 49-0.

He'd have to continue fighting at damn near 40 in order to beat Marciano's record. That's very risky.

    49-0 means nothing.

Joe Louis' *25* defenses of the LEGITIMATE HW Title is what matters...

Couple of guys made it past 48-0 to the 50+ lose later, the Italian Ali & York boy on top of my head

Then Finito a success, but the catch is 48-0

Mayweather better pick extra fancy cherry for that one :hey

When Roy Jones and Antonio Tarver first fought, Roy was 48-1, but that one loss was a DQ, so really in the eyes of the fans he was 48-0.

Tarver knocked him out in 2 rounds!

OK so according to these forums a TKO is pretty much a No Contest if it's caused by cuts and now all DQ's are also No Contests???

    Cool.

    Yori boy p'haps?

That was first name that came to my mind when it was under discussion on the Chris John RBR - went up to 56 and 0. Guys been fighting 26 years, he's now 101-17-3, f#kkin legend but he should probably be thinking about hangin' 'em up.

Yori boy lost on his feet vs Tito, some guys went past 50-0 Italian Ali (Mauritania immigrant) was 56-0 also when Curry got him

48-0 is more symbolic as its Marciano related and now the list just got bigger!
