    It was a diuretic.. they basically clear your system or everything... in my opinion it's going to harm you rather than help. It will dehydrate you which is obviously why some fighters try them to make weight if they're struggling.

    They can be used to mask steroids but i'v never understood why you would do that, either way you get caught for using something banned.

    I think (tho don't quote me on this) that the diuretics help eliminate the steroid metabolites more quickly - you **** them out. The idea is obviously to take the diuretic early enough that it, too, is eliminated by testing time.

    Taking diuretics prior to weigh in is obviously used, as you say, to help shed those awkward extra ounces, but in general it should be quite possible to rehydrate in the 24+ hours before the fight itself.

    I think it could be an interesting fight tonight. Simon isn't completely past it...he's 34 and he's got a 3 inch height advantage on Love.

    I'm expecting a Love decision or late KO, but Simon could make this fight interesting if he's still got anything left.

    The actual televised portion? Top of the current hour less ten minutes.

    On the Mayweather Promotions website they claim to be airing four bouts on ShoBox. :scaredas: That could mean this card runs until 3am here on the east coast.

    They don't say which four, but I am guessing those will be:

    Luis Arias vs. Cameron Allen, 8 rounds @ super middleweight

    Mickey Bey Jr. vs. Carlos Cardenas, 8 rounds @ lightweight

    Badou Jack vs. Rogelio Medina, 10 rounds @ super middleweight

    J'Leon Love vs. Lajuan Simon, 10 rounds @ super middleweight



    ...already in progress now is Ashley Theophane vs. Robert Osiobe, 8 rounds @ welterweight and the rest of the undercard is over.
