arum is open to anything, this is very obvious. pac has agreed to osdt/ lesser cut, how low, that's the talking point in nego. showtime is a business and just like any other business, they are greedy as ****. cbs, as people would like to claim that floyd is signed to, is a publicly traded company. as such, its loyalty is to its shareholders. these shares holders need to be satisfied with quarterly earnings/profits which includes the biggest fight in boxing that can be made. gbp there is a little bit of ill feelings between top rank and them, mainly schaeffer and bob. but there is todd, who can brdige between the 2. arum may not be entirely involved in the nego. top rank could be represented by this guy. most importantly, i think, showtime can override them because gbp has nowhere to go. dela hoya, as an individual. i think his loyalty is towards gbp, very obvious. the animosity between him and floyd could be real. floyd did not grant dela hoya rematch, so dela wasnt able to rectify his loss, instead he was forced to look elsewhere, which led to his unplanned retirement. 2nd, he sold out canelo, him going to rehab jst before the fight, that was him saying, im guilty as ****. he might put the blame on that to floyd. floyd. my personal feeling is that floyd feels pac is a bad matchup for him for reasons i have already stated in the past. this is subject to debate but let's not go there. so personal feelings aside, if floyd-khan (garcia?) tanks in the boxoffice, whick more likely happen than not. my take is the same as the guerrero fight which isnt enough to pay for floyd's minimum wage. when this happens, just like the canelo fight, floyd is left with very little choice as showtime will not allow 2 successive losses in the contract. showtime has shown they can put their foot down and have the fight they think will be profitable for them, not just floyd. so, if all the stars are aligned: floyd vs. whoever tanks, tr-gbp feud patched, and there is no other viable contender that shows up from now up to the next floyd fight, we may get the pac-mayweather fight. however, i feel even then when everything is alligned, floyd has some options to not do what he does want, namely: 1. vada, strongly believe he wont agree to this. 2. opt out clause in his contract where he instead retire and not finished the contract. 3. accept a lesser guarantee just so he can fight whoever he wants, finish the contract and retire. but as it is, the catalyst is floyd vs whoever in may 2014 tanking, hopefully snowballs into pac-mayweather in late 2014. fingers crossed.
great post.. couldn't agree more with everything posted here.. now everything is all UP to FLOYD.. i hope he MANS UP!
RUBBISH, FLOYD IS NOT BOSSED AROUND BY SHOWTIME/GB/WBC. wHEN WILL YOU FOOLS LEARN THIS? Espinoza , says we have no control over his opponent selection! Which part of this statement, cannot be understood?
They will not reach a deal. Arum is too old to give a ****. He will put more money in his pocket putting his son in law in the ring with pac.
The fight will happen if Mayweather vs Khan flops and only sells about 500,000 PPV's which i think there's a chance it could well do. There's no other fighter left for Mayweather to sell 1 million plus PPV's with unless he fights Broner. Pac-Mayweather would still be MASSIVE and do between 2-3 Million PPV's especially as all the hype and promotion for it would make it into the biggest boxing event in history and get all the casuals on board too who didn't know the first thing about boxing.
It's not that big a deal if it happens now. They all blew it for everybody when it would have been one of the biggest, most talked about sporting events of the last 20 years. It was red hot in 2009. Boxing fans should never forgive Floyd, Pac and most of all Bob Arum for robbing us of this when it mattered.
could have had the greatest build up and hype of the modern era would have sold millions even obama was calling for it to happen remember? but this fight will never ever happen walk into the light son I have come to my senses and accepted what will never be, you can to! and when you accept it you wont be alone you will get the support you need from fellow *******s and *****seexuals
it was a lot closer in 2009, floyd may want 75% given Pacs latest numbers . . .I do not know if Pac would go for that. Its funny that Arum says he is ok with it but he never picks up the phone to make the call
...fight ain't happenin Pac ain't calling floyd to fight him...floyd doesn't even mention Pac's name , so it's still a long way from reality
This is similar to my view that a Floyd vs Tomato Khan fight is actually good in the long run. It's a completely shiat fight and it will tank. Nobody will be impressed if Floyd gets to choose another bum of the month. He's under contact, and has limited leeway. His future fights after carrying Tomato Khan for 11 rounds before the KO will be decided for the most bang for the buck = a future Pacquaio fight.:happy
its truly amazing how certain people (morons) try to claim the ball is in floyds court. WTF are you guys shooting ? floyds the man been the man for really 17 yrs. if you want floyd you better make every effort you can. team paq has made NO effort since day fkn ONE. they claim they are willing and sometimes claim they are ready but behind those closed doors they refuse to fight or even truly negotiate.
