Yep. No point rematching IMO. Another 8-10 week camp for that to happen again nah i say leave it and enjoy your family Darren.
IDK the hips are probably gone so yes, if he could fight again there are fights out there for him, but his body is simply breaking down
Real shame, Darren looked to be coming out in the 2nd round with a good game plan, but if that hip is going to continue being a problem I don't think he should torment himself with another training camp. Hopefully he's got enough out of that 1mil (after tax, promoters etc) to set him up for a while. He'll get work as a pundit anyway, he'll be okay in the long run I'm sure.
if sturm just did a hip ....GGG would've decapitated him!!!!! barker's leg would do a runner to the dressing room! while his top half would be laid out!
No coming back this time from another hip injury his training has been tailored for so long because of various ailment's made great money last night time to move on.He won't return I am pretty sure of that.
Correct, Darren is finished boxing. Disappointed for Sturm that there will be no rematch. He deserves the earner and it would have been a "soft" defence in London for him too. Now , with Darren retired, he will probably have to take a tougher fight for less money.
In that Gloves Off show i thought Barker looked the worst due to his arrogance followed closely by Murray. Even more funny now that Sturm walked through him.
hip trouble is fu cking terrible as it effects nearly every aspect from simply rolling shots to throwing hooks and all the inbetween , i can sympathise
Kind of agree; but Murray pipped him, IMO. There's confidence and then there's arrogance - Martin showed more of the latter I thought. I always thought that Lee was the weakest, then Murray, Then Barker and Macklin as the best of the bunch. I got that one wrong!
