He has a chance of beating Floyd but I would pick a Floyd win.

Lara has a better chance than Khant, but Lara has come out and said he needs to a earn a shot at Floyd and you have to respect him for that

Every time someone around Floyd's weight wins a big fight, there are threads about they can beat Floyd. Floyd has proved the doubters wrong every time. Lara is very talented and has a size advantage but Floyd has elite level talent and would most likely win by UD.

He earned it today. That's how Canelo earned his shot.

fight should have been a draw. trout made the fight. trout got out of his comfort zone and played the bull to lara's matador. if trout had stuck to his counterpunching style, there would have been zero action and all of y'all would be talking about they both suck...

    Scorecards: 118 - 109, 117-110, 117-110.

Lara won by a larger margin than Floyd did in his last 4 fights. So if this should have been a draw, Floyd's last 4 fights should have been losses.

He's already earned it and its certainly more than what Khan has done to deserve it.

There's no doubt in my mind Floyd would have his way with Lara.

The reason why Pacman is such an intriguing fight against Floyd is because he possesses elite handspeed and throws punches in very unconventional angles.

I watched the fight closely last night and I don't think Lara or Trout would have a chance against Floyd. Floyd would see there punches coming from a mile away, and Lara doesn't put enough pressure or throw enough punches to make a fight with Floyd interesting.

He's a southpaw slickster with good defense so people are obviously going to think he has a chance, but FLoyd has really evolved the past couple years and I don't even see it being remotely competitive. Mayweather would just stay patient and force lara to become the aggressor and just pick him apart with his timing and superlative counterpunching. If for some reason Lara decided not to fight aggressively, Floyd will pick him apart with that lead right.

Lara looked very good against Trout who just looked like he came for a payday. But if he were to take on Floyd he'd recognize probably by the 3rd or 4th round he's taking on a superior boxer with better defense, better handspeed and footspeed and better accuracy, timing and combination punching.

Aside from being slightly larger than Floyd, I honestly can't think of any advantage either men- Lara or Trout- has with FLoyd. It'd end up looking like another ALvarez fight, these JMW's are too slow for Mayweather, way too slow.

This is such a baseless argument, I mean do you think The Ghost or Canelo won more than 2-3 rounds in their fights with Floyd? RObert won at most 3 rounds, and if you want to be generous you can give 3 rounds to canelo too (I had him only winning 2 of the rounds against FLoyd.)

I personally like Lara, but he's just way too slow and predictable against a master boxer like Floyd. Some people in the past mentioned Lara was the closest person in boxing today with attributes similar to Mayweather, well I wasn't too impressed against his life and death win over Angulo and I surely wasn't that impressed with his win against a very overrated Trout.

Aside from being a little big bigger than Floyd, Lara really doesn't hold any advantages in a matchup. I'm trying to think of one boxing trait he holds over FLoyd, and I can't think of anything offensively or defensively.

ITs not happening folks. That people are looking for him to step outside his comfort zone, is a testimony to his greatness! Did marvin hagler, fight michael spinks , who was 15 pounds heavier?
