I think Hearn keeps the TV money from sky and the fighter purse relies upon ticket sales and the size of the Arenaexcluding Boxoffice that why we only ever seem to fights in big arena with totally big mismatched undercards because bar the prizefighter he doesnt really do fights in leasure centre, york hall etc.

The stable is looking a bit weak right now to be fair.

Signing Groves up is no brainer but his loyalty to old Froch has prevented it, carlhas one fight left in him.

Groves Degale 2 is the big domestic ppv event of the future, he needs to realise that.

Eddieneedsto sign some fighters who have some potential at world level.

I think the match room stable is a little bit over rated, partly because a lot of boxing media like boxing news magazine seem to be up match room's proverbial backside.

Match room probably has the best stable certainly when it comes to prospects but it's not that much better than ******'s.

Contenders: Chisora, Billy Joe Saunders, Cleverly, Frankie Gavin, Liam Smith, Macrinelli, Derry Mathews, Stephan Ormand, Frampton

Prospects: Bradley Saunders, Josh Leather, Ronnie Heffron etc.

Contenders: Bellew, Barker, Froch, Brook, Burns, Quigg, Paul Smith, Kevin Mitchell

Prospects: Joshua, Campell, Callum Smith, Yafai

If you look at it all and you look at the contenders what Match room has they aren't much better if at all and if ****** could get Degale or Groves you would probably give the edge to him for quality maybe not money making value but quality of the fighters.

I think DeGale and Groves could beat Froch.

A lot of Britain's best Khan, Haye, Degale, Groves, Price, Fury, Murray, Macklin, Lee are not with Match room or Frank.

Agree about Groves/degale 3 which is why you need to sigh at least one preferably both fighters.

It's funny, people followed FW in criticising Hearn for not building a fighter, yet he now has a stable (Yafai, C Smith, Joshua, Campbell etc etc) in which they are clearly building for the future and still people moan.

    Bizarre.

The support from so called british fans on this forum is shocking. Everyone loves to twist the knife and slag the fighters and matchroom off. People on this forum are worse than the press.

Barker got beat injury or no injury he would have known he was in for a tough night. Hearn will also have been well aware how good sturm could be and it was very possible barker would lose. It is no big shock, the only real disappointment is how quickly it went wrong.

Matchroom have the best stable of fighters in the Uk / Europe and will bounce back. Over the next 18 months. 4/5 of his lads will fight for world titles which they will be capable of winning.

Would be good to see us backing all our lads. I don't mean wear blinkers and ignore the facts but be supportive, encourage and not twist the knife if it goes wrong.

Great post - The forum is really in the gutter with fighter support.
