Davie theres not a hope in hell of Ormond fighting Ricky imo, the gulf in levels is very very high.
He should be fighting the likes of the topm 3-4 LW's in UK

Billy I'm not saying he should. you must see it would be fun while it lasted.. As I think I said Ricky would figure him out quick and probably stop him. He has improved a lot from when he fought Paul. Think he would give most a decent scrap

Ormond still has a bit to learn before he looks at world level. You could see how delighted his team were with the victory which says to me fighting the likes of Derry is were they see Ormond at for the minute.

Ormond would get hit too often by a higher quality operator if he stepped up right now. His lack of power would also be a concern. How many massive looking overhand rights did he hit Derry with in every round without ever really looking like he might get a knock down no matter what the Collins might be shouting from ringside. Derry is tough but he was hit with the kitchen sink, everything Ormand had in his arsenal but to no great effect.

Crolla would be an interesting and the kind of experience building fight Ormond should be looking at. The Collins have big mouths but they're nobodies fools.

They were delighted because of the relief that he wasn't going to get robbed in Derry's home town. Most people I know thought he was robbed against Appleby in Glasgow. Billy says Ormond is nowhere near Ricky's class but to be fair Billy is going to say that anyway. I might fancy Burns myself but the gulf in class is not that big in my opinion.

Let's be fair, Billy believes Ricky is the best LW in the world. Hardly impartial.

Lets be equally fair, Burns has had 1 poor performance and then a freakish accident which ruined another. And now folk are dragging him back down to domestic level (not David I know he was merely pointing out would just be a fun fight style wise).

Whatever you say about Burns and his recent performances ......... he is by far and away the best LW in this country by a mile. The rest can fight to claim second spot.

I must literally be the only person who didn't rate that performance. He threw no jabs, just flurries of hooks that landed on the elbows and gloves, barely anything landing, and he left himself totally open. Anyone slightly better would easily pick him off. Also, Derry hit him constantly with the jab. Don't get me wrong he defo deserved the win on workrate alone but Derry flattered him.

I don't know what fight you were watching. Ormond land his overhand right for fun. The only concern was it didn't do much damage even though it was landing big. Ormond doesn't look to have power.

On the morning of the weigh in, Derry was chirping on about "off for some breakfast" etc then 2 days later claiming he struggled to make the weight haha. unbelievable.

Did someone set the fire alarm off while his fight was on, it was dead haha!
