When Groves stops moaning for a Froch rematch, who should he actually fight next?

    As time goes by, if George Groves continues moaning about a Froch rematch the fickle public who cheered him out of the ring will dwindle in numbers.

    For better or worse this is what will happen, this is just human nature.

    And Groves necessarily needs to be aware of this.

    No one appreciates a moaner who doesn't take decisive action to take control of matters themselves.

    Instead he needs to force the issue by focussing on a new opponent to prove he can actually finish and stop top class opponents and get wins against them, rather than just starting well and then getting dragged into their fight and losing in the second half of the fight.

    Who should he fight next that would make a statement if he wins to FORCE the Froch rematch rather than tiresomely and incessantly moaning?

    Ward?

    Kessler?

    Bute?

    Direll?

    baika i think groves would beat him and most other smw with the exception being ward but he would have punchers chance in that fight

    Froch. If word gets out he too is negotiating for someone else, then chances for the rematch will disappear

    Groves was well on his way to an upset until the premature stoppage however as I don't wanna sound anti Groves because I do think he is very good I believe the only reason he was beating Carl so convincingly is because Froch is the perfect opponent for Groves. Fighting someone of Frochs class 'world class' with a different style might well determine if he has yet made the step up to world class or still needs a couple of fights.

    On the former point, you forgot to add "in my opinion". The latter point however is spot on and many people neglect this. We definitely need to see him in with a world level fighter who isn't quite so flattering on him stylistically.

    In my opinion I have no hesitation in Groves fighting any Super Middleweight in the world and he can defeat everyone apart from Andre Ward. Personally I sense Froch does not fancy the rematch and frankly why would he as he would get knocked out inside 6 rounds.

    groves is frochs only option if he wants too luck at himself in the mirror again without cringing, groves beats froch to set up a massive rematch with degale in a perfect world

    He needs a promoter,nobody is going to go out of their way to offer Groves a title fight.

    A froch rematch is a no brainer all depends if Carl has the bottle.
