I think Burns is underrated and I myself have been found guilty of underrating him and predicting the loss. But he continues to prove me wrong. I do believe Crawford is a quality fighter and in terms of skill is levels above our champion but in previous fights Ricky has fought with heart which commendable. I hope he will continue to impress and then hopefully a huge unifaction bout for him.
After studying Crawford I don't think he has the power off gonzalez , Martinez or beltran. This fight for burns is easier than those 3. Crawford never been in with anyone with the heart and fitness of burns, if burns is fully recovered and fresh there is only one winner.
I do agree Crawford has not got notable power but his array of punching and skill is superior to Burns. I do think after the first half of the fight Burns experience and champion heart will come into play and around round 7th or 8th that will be the vital rounds to where Ricky can turn it on. My heart is telling me Burns can do this but my mind is undecided on this.
I disagree, but even if this fight was easier than Beltran it would have to be easier by a hugely substantial margin in order for Burns to win, seeing as Beltran beat the absolute **** out of him.
Beltran beat the crap out of him!!!??? how do you work that out surely if your opponent has a broken jaw in the second round any world class boxer would be able to stop his opponent with 10 rounds to go unless they were facing a true champ and seriously tough mother and that's exactly what burns is. crawford does not have the power to stop burns and the longer the fight goes on burns will out work him.
Three things, 1. I doubt Burns broke his jaw in the second round, that is what has come from his camp, but frankly I don't believe them. 2. Burns got his jaw broke because Beltran was beating the crap out of him, but people make it sound like it was some freak injury that Beltran was lucky to have happen. Plus look at Burns wincing in agony from Beltran's body assaults, the broken jaw was just one of many problems. 3. Beltran is not World class, this should tell you a lot.
It doesn't matter world class or not as you say he was beating Ricky up a lot in that fight and anyone with a fighter instinct knows when to go in for the kill to finish a guy off and neither Beltran or Gonzalez could finish Ricky off at any time in the fight Crawford will be the same he will go for a big blow out like Gonzalez and he will use everything in the tank and be spent.
But Beltran, who is not a top World class fighter, beat Burns and beat him easily, even without stopping him and if Burns is as good as his fans think he is he would beat a guy like Beltran without too much trouble. Phil Edwards also played a big part in preventing Beltran from finishing Burns off by breaking up the action as soon as Beltran got close and started hurting him. The judges of course then finished off the robbery.
Barry your problem is your thinking, Ricky couldnt miss Beltran in the first two round please go and watch it again! I can assure you although i dont care one way or another it was the 2nd round
Still think the result was fair or do you accept you got a ridiculous gift and that Beltran was the deserving winner?
What excuse will you come out with for the Crawford fight? Against Gonzalez it was Ricky over-trained. Against Beltran it was Ricky broke his jaw Maybe you should ask Crawford nicely not to hit Ricky?
Beltran deserved the verdict no doubt about it but look at rounds 1 & 2 again ,burns is to fast and powerful for beltran then he gets injured and beltran as expected takes over, Crawford in my opinion wouldn't beat beltran convincingly on what I have seen and burns would of won a wide ud bar the injury no doubt. I know everyone will say he gave burns the injury but if we take everything literally then Prescott is better than khan etc blah blah blah 9 times out of ten burns would beat beltran no problem
