Hello Everybody I am fighting a Knockout artist in a month,What are some things or strategies. i can do to emerge victorious, boxers with experience please help me out. What can i do to defeat this stronger opponent?
It depends on his style. If he's a boxer puncher, you're probably in trouble. Either stay close, or stay far away. If he's a stationary slugger type, use your stick, and move around the ring. Occassionaly throw to the body, especially with straights, and then move...quickly. If it's a volume puncher type or an aggressive in-fighter, try to catch him in hard with straights, throw uppercuts when he gets inside, push him away, or tie up, when you feel like you're getting suffocated. Or, "pull out, quick!"
Is that all you know about him? That he's a knockout artist? Do some homework. Pass it on and then people might be able to offer some useful suggestions.
hey Ralph the Dog i sparred him about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Before i knew i would be fighting him my coach keep telling me to move and to keep my right hand glued to my face,he never landed the right hand on me i was watching it the whole sparring session.but he caught me offguard with a hook and it felt like i got hit by a truck.so i think he has a dangerous hook but his right hand is a mystery to me since it never landed flush this is my 5th fight heavywieght 192
Does he have a good chin ? do you have the power to wobble him ? Whether you can hurt him or not is very important in this fight
Dude nobody can help you unless we know stuff about you and him. But most likely if you're a heavyweight and are scared of facing a hard puncher, you need to lose weight or quit. My best advice would be to knock him out by punching him very hard in the head and body. Would probably help to push him back and be in his face so he can't get leverage.
Here is a tip don't do as Glen Tapia did against KO artist James Kirkland this past weekend and fight the KO artist's fight.
