Danny Garcia vs Lucas Matthysse II in works...

I had this fight very close at 7rds to 5 for Garcia but the deciding factor was clearly the thumbed glove that caused the swelling and closing of Lucas's eye from the 7th rd onwards.

Without that i think Lucas would have won the fight and may even have stopped Danny late.

Rematch is definately needed and would make the KHAN-MAYWEATHER PPV much more sellable.

You really think the dirty tactics where part of the over arching strategy, a solid second position or a more than subtle adjustment on gracias part. If you really look at the big picture here Lucas failed to impose his will while Danny continued to evolve in every passing round until he was able to implement and produce work rate with efficiency and effectiveness.

Why not good fights usually have rematches !

 

I actually saw no one dominating for a significant amount of time. I think if you've seen past fights with Garcia you can see he changes gears as well as studying next best options...he improves with time; however while he's making adjustments he can sometimes execute a strategy that allows the opposition opportunities as well. I dont see many folks giving him the cerebral credit he deserves because at the end of the day he does take a decent amount of risk in attempting to have his blue print work.

 

I think this video clearly shows that the swelling that caused the Matthysse eye to shut in the 7th round was caused from the thumbed part of Danny's glove and not by a legal punch. It was from this point onwards that Garcia started to take over the fight but if Lucas didn't sustain that injury there is no doubt in my mind he would have won the fight.

Aside from his power both guys have granite chins, I think the KD was bogus but I will review it again, and also I think Garcia looked more wobbled by the bombs than matthysse. Garcia was and is definitely the more skilled technician Nd showed good adaptability. But then again so did mat, in the sense that he began to pressurise Danny a lot more when he realised he was loosing. Would love to see part 2

 

I hope its true. I got matthysse. Had matthysse up 4-2 before the eye swelled from the glove rake. And even after 20+ low blows I had it end 7-5 garcia. Competitive fight and people saying garcia dominated think if they say something enough times it will become true.

 

But Garcia was supposed to get KTFO by the mighty Lucas....

 

would rather see danny vs paulie or shawn porter TBH

 

I think matthysse ko's garcia in the rematch just have a gut feeling that mathysse was out of sorts that night.
People are deluded about the fight if they think garcia dominated.
