Nah, Rigos style is all right. But it's hard to make a fight out this kind of boxer.Because you wont get a fight at all. Rigo is too good!! But to be fair Rungundeaux fought A Ghanaian who fights just like his country man Clottey shelled up and ****.
In the future, try this link: http://www.boxingforum24.com/search.php In this specific instance you could have typed in the keywords "Rigondeaux" and "boring," clicked search and then come up with this thread, just like I just did.
Entertaining to the masses? No. But as a fan of different styles I get joy from watching a master of his craft ply their trade. Rigondeaux is probably the highest skilled boxer to ever put on a pair of boxing gloves. I'm also a fan of the sports history and personally can't ever remember watching film and witnessing skill that good before. He is active. He throws more and lands more than his opponents. What's funny is he faces all sorts of active punchers but after a few exchanges they no longer want to throw anymore. So in my opinion part of the problem is that Rigo is way to good for most opposition. I'm really interested in seeing him at 135. Then things will get exciting.
Agbeko's performance was the one that was pathetic, he was in a defensive shell the whole fight--survival mode. Rigo completely shut him down with his speed and power. Counter punchers counter punch. Rigo is a counter puncher. That requires someone having the balls to come forth and try to hit him. Apparently Agbeko left his balls at home. As someone else stated Agbeko traded with Mares, why not Rigo. I guess Rigo is that good. Even Donaire was afraid to exchange with Rigo. So blame Rigo's opponents for not having the balls to swing at him more than 8 times per round. Those are the guys making the fights boring. Rigo is just being a counter puncher, and that requires the other guy throwing punches to counter. Lomachenko vs Rigo will be a great fight because I think Lomachenko will be aggressive enough to make it a fight.... Not like Donaire and Agbeko who lost all courage to let their hands go.
Lara put Trout down, Rigo is just boring and wont take chances when the time is right, he needs to learn from Lara.
Agreed, we as fans want at least some action, he aren't asking for all out brawl, just some aggressiveness when the time is right. Rigo had plenty of chances to go for the KO against Agbeko but didn't. At least Lara tried to and he scored a KD of Trout.
I wanna see whomever fights Mares next, to walk right out in the first round and nail him with a deliberate low blow.
Why does Donaire always have an excuse? Shoulder. Didn't train. Didn't watch video. I could barely make weight. I notice this trait among the ******* fighters.
