Lol, he's been a "in the pocket fighter" since he's come back from his retirement. You just wanna see him get punched in the face. Admit it .

My regards to the thread starter. This was a very well written post - superb. I especially enjoyed the analogies.

My problem with Floyd isn't his safety first style; it's his refusal to fight anyone with a chance of victory. Imagine if Ray Leonard had refused to fight Duran, Hearns, and Hagler. He'd be thought of as the gayest person in the universe.

If you don't enjoy the defensive, slick and special style in boxing then I suggest you stick to the styles you enjoy watching. Bitching and crying won't change ****.

Who has a chance of victory that he hasn't fought? Keeping in mind, Floyd could still easily make 140lbs most likely.

He fought Mosley, coming off Mosley's demolition of Margarito.
    He fought Alvarez
He fought Ortiz, coming off Ortiz's ass whooping of Berto
    He fought undefeated Hatton
He fought Marquez, who went on years later to destroy Pacman

Are you really, implying that Mayweather is SO GREAT, that none of those guys coming off all those great wins had even a slight chance at victory???

I bet you think Pacman had/has a chance of victory though? But the guy that arguably beat him 4 times didn't?

You make a lot of sense :nut

The problem is no one 154 and down has a chance it doesn't matter who he fights he will be the betting favortie and probably would be that way until 160. All you'll say if he fights GGG for example is before the fight you'll talk about how PBF is scared of him and would get KTFO after he beats him you'll say it was boring and how GGG never beat anyone and was overrated. You won't give him any credit and will be full of excuses after and say he never fights a live threat, that's the way it is. PBF can't win with people like you, what you need to do is realize he's the best a true once in generation talent appreciate him and move on.

I do give him credit: he is a great fighter. Nevertheless, it is common knowledge that he is very selective in choosing his opponents. This isn't merely the opinion of people frequenting message boards. Martin Murray was on Buncy's Boxing Hour prior to the Guerrero fight and they were discussing this, so this is accepted by the boxing mainstream.

And, no, I'm won't mindlessly believe Floyd is the best when he refuses to prove it. Martinez offered to fight for pittance in the division where Floyd holds a title and Floyd refused. When Paul Williams was rampaging through the division and had just beaten Margarito, Floyd goes walkabout and only returns when Paul had just moved all the way up to middleweight. Lastly, even when Pacquiao agrees to Floyd's drug-testing and pay split demands (this was between the Bradley and 4th Marquez fights), Floyd refuses to fight him. Bowe got a lot of **** for his duck of a single fighter, Lennox Lewis, so Floyd deserves the crap he gets for ducking multiple fighters.

talent can only be measured by competition, which he is lacking compared to other atgs.

there is also once in a generation talent in his very own division and floyd refused to fight him to determine who is the better one.

marquez is not floyd. they are both counter punchers, thats it.

stop comparing the pac-marquez fight to a hypothetical pac-floyd fight.

floyd will never fight pac the way marquez did. in fact it is the reason why floyd doesnt want to fight pac. he doesnt have marquez's chin.

I love Pac too but he walked away in 09 and Arum is doing nothing to make the fight . . . so who refused the fight again?

This **** just pissed me off.

Paul Williams lost his very next fight and got his ears boxed off by Carlos Quintana for crying out loud. He beat Quintana in a rematch and never fought at 147 again. Yea, he was really "rampaging" through the division.
