What mistakes would you say Khan makes in his style? I think he's too predictable. Just looking at his fight with Garcia, he kept throwing 1-2s. Also, his punches are sloppy. The replay for the third round showed that he threw a combination, and his right hand missed wildly, which allowed Garcia to throw a counter left hook over his shoulder and knock him down.

Too common rhythm that's why he gets timed. He's fast but he doesn't have to throw 1-2 , 1-2-3s all the time. He can just shoot straights and other ****. After the flurry he's always vulnerable even to slow punchers like Maidana and Garcia.

If he kept throwing 1,2's for the whole Garcia fight he would have won...

I don't think your analysis of what Khan did to get knocked down by Garcia is right...

He threw a rear hand uppercut from the outside... nobody should throw such that punch especially when your opponent is a counterpuncher who isn't moving forwards....

Another mistake he makes is that he doesn't clinch when hurt.

This is what I was going to say. When he gets stunned, he's not the smartest of fighters. Instead of backpedaling to regain his senses or do the conventional thing which is to hold the opponent, he decides to stay in the pocket and trade with them, which almost always ends up with him getting countered again with a shot he doesn't see coming.

His fights are quite entertaining because he's a stupid fighter whenever he gets stunned. For a guy with such a good amateur pedigree and good overall skills, he lets his emotions get in the way when he gets stunned and usually doesn't take a safety-first approach at that point.

Khan's vulnerabilities are a compound problem; he get's too involved, he doesn't check his range (throws straight when he's in hook territory) and welcomes slugging when he's on wobbly pins.

These are crucial errors, and on the evidence of his last two bouts, Virgil Hunter will be unable to weed them out.

Born with a british glass chin? Not really a mistake so not his fault

Talks like he is a superstar but he isn't?

Those are the 3 mistakes he makes.

i supported him for a while but i can no longer support him as a fan of the sport, he has this false sense of entitlement, during the whole alexander situation he was trying to push for the fight to be in dubai, a guy who's challenging for a world title and coming off a poor performance against a journeyman where he was almost knocked out and then trying to dictate where a fight should be held? he keeps on downplaying brook he claimed that matthew hatton and schenko would both beat brook and after the fight claims that they were **** oppponents. a
in the states he's not even a huge PPV draw and he has the audacity to try and speak of a FMJ fight after his last performance.
if he wants to be taken seriously he needs to fight brook, face off with porter and then avenge the garcia defeat. but none of those 3 things would happen as kell brook would KO him

    Good question.

Amir has the athleticism, talent and skills to be a Top 10 P4P boxer and looks like one when sticking to a gameplan as he did winning every round against Andreas Kotelnik.

As for the mistakes he makes i would say the following:

    1. Comes at his opponents straight on rather then at angles.
    2. Stays in the pocket too long after he throws a punch, needs to throw a punch and then move out of range and even move side to side.
    3. Gets himself into unnecessary brawls and fights his opponents fight rather then one that suits his style.
Poor footwork, he seems to be off balance all the time. I put this down to him being too fast for his own good.
    4. He needs to differenciate the speed of his punches, he shouldn't always try and throw every punch as fast as possible, he needs to change up speeds in order to confuse his opponent as no matter how quick you are eventually your opponent will work you out and start to time you.
    5. Learn to hold and buy time if you get knocked down.

I'm sure there's other things i've missed out.

His main problem is that he buys quite literally into a common British expression, meant to convey optimism in the face of adversity.
