I've seen improvements, now uses a jab to set his power shots, throws them straighter now when he needs to. Slightly better defense with better head movement but this is still Maidana's weakness. Broner has speed advantages, when both throw he will land first you would think, but from watching Broner he has many moments where he shells up and throws nothing, Maidana must go to the body here, or get close and time an overhand right over the jab. Broner doesn't usually use movement he likes to stay on the inside and counter, he basically walks opponents down and fights offensively. broner gets labeled a defensive fighter and a slick one but i disagree as i say i think he is an offence minded fighter and Maidana does well vs them. If he fights the same way he has been doing Maidana has a great chance of hurting, dropping and stopping broner. Broner to win this fight will have to show more movement than he has in the past and throw more punches, he isn't as active as i think he should be and this would give Maidana chances.
You are right in some things you say, I agree Broner could have won that fight better than he did, but have you seen Broner spar lately? he just stands there, he hasn't used his feet in years, and Maidana may have slower hands and less workrate than Paulie, but he doesn't need fast hands against Broner and if Broner stands there trying to pose vs Maidana... I actually think it'll get ugly for him You say Maidana fits into Broners style, but just because Broner throws the occasional counter, that will not be enough im afraid, Maidana has been hit by bigger men, and put down by bigger men, and he gets up and BEATS those bigger men. Broner needs to do more than sit there in a Philly Shell throwing the odd uppercut and fancy straight Mayweather-esque righthand every so often. And one last thing, Broners body, he had better cover is up with four elbows if he wants to stand there in front of Maidana, or his ribs may be pureed by the end of the night
The only one with a questionable body in this fight is Maidana...Lopez who by the way is indeed taller but not the bigger man...He hurt Maidana on a few occasions to the head and body...Lopez has decent pop but I don't see him having more power than Broner... I couldn't gauge Broners power thoroughly in his first welter weight fight against Paulie because Paulie has a sniff chin and gave Broner few opportunities to put punches together and land flush hooks against him...but I believe his power will show up Saturday he will indeed stand in the pocket at times absorbing body shots and countering....Maidana has very good power don't get me wrong but he is only able to shine against fighters who are offensive with leaky defenses...Broner is no Floyd but has good defense, combine that with his speed, counter punching ability and good power and I see that as a clear path of victory for Broner....
I don't forget my pal Gavin Rees getting through to that body Maidana hits a ****ing hell of a lot harder than Gavin, and is MUCH stronger, Broners defence isn't all that either pal, he can shake his head all he wants, Broner will pose while Maidana punches and that is bad news for AB
Well Broners never been stunned or dropped with body punches...but a las we will see here in a couple days...
By the way I'm putting my entire 5304 of V cash on Broner..will you be dropping that large sum of 75 V cash on Maidana...With all that virtual cash it just shows you're are brimming with boxing knowledge and make superb predictions...Easy work...
Oh my! I am quite a sucker for the underdog with my Vcash (check my history if you like), but not my real cash, how much real cash you betting on it then, mister boxing knowledge?
The last true puncher Broner faced was a bantamweight moved up to featherweight... or DeMarco, and yeah, he compares to the Maidanas of this world
I have a small $200 bet on Bovado on the over...Broner...playing online poker as we speak...do you even gamble real money Is the question...
Just watched Maidana-Lopez. Maidana looked like **** in this fight. He was getting tagged all night and even getting backed up. Broner has this fight in the bag. maidana's only chance is a big shot.
How did that one end again? Why do you also fail to mention that Maidana outboxed Lopez in that fight too?
Don't tell him nothing...He won't listen...He see on Saturday and I'll be looking for his ass to gloat...
