It could have saved Rios several hundred thousands by using this substance. It helps lose weight. Had Rios failed he could have lost in the upwards of 20% of purse. That's $800,000.00 he could have lost and that's probably $400,00.00 or Pac could have made from him not making weight.

So yes something as "weak" as this has huge implication.

 

Rios started out at 135, he would have made 147 no problem even without that weak stimulant he got busted for. I would blame that scumbag Ariza for screwing up the timing of the preparation.

 

Fact is Rios has failed weight twice before and in this fight came in heavier then the guy who has fought longer at the weight. If he took this days leading up to the fight then there is no doubt it was to help shed weight. If he took just prior to fight then it was to help with speed and reflex. Either way it wasn't a mistake. It was either him or his camp doing it intentionally.

Add in the huge amount of money he has lose for not making weight on this fight and it makes it very suspicious.

Rios was probably taking DMAA way before Ariza came into camp. It numbs your body of pain, no wonder Rios has an iron chin, he doesn't feel any pain.
