As a fight fan, it's hard not too like Maidana. He's a real fighter's fighter with a ton of heart and real power in both hands. Also, he's experienced and is building himself a decent resumé with wins over Broner, Lopez, Morales and Ortiz.

But all he really did last night was prove that Broner is not, never was and never will be at the same level as his so-called 'big brother'. That's not enough to make me forget about the fact that he was dominated by Devon the good but far from great Alexander a few fights ago, or the fact that he went life-and-death with a faded Morales a year before that.

**** all you want on Khan (and i don't think he is that much more of a viable opponent), but stylistically he may well pose a bigger challenge to Floyd, his level of name recognition /market value is higher than that of Maidana, and let's not forget he actually beat Maidana, although Maidana's looked more impressive in recent fights.

    Bring on Maidana-Thurman, Maidana-Malignaggi or Maidana-Garcia though!

What in the hell is khans challenge v floyd, enlighten please? The man has consistently struggled with far far inferior opponents. He brings nothing, no Boxing IQ whatsoever. i have watched every pro bout of this guys career, and he has not face d anybody of floyds calibre, or has he?

Well, ok, it's probably more of a perceived challenge than an actual one, because many ppl say "Floyd's never seen that kind of hand speed", and that, coupled with his height and reach at least makes some ppl think he poses a challenge of sorts.

Personally, i think those attributes pale in comparison to the weaknesses that it won't take Mayweather much time to exploit, such as his horrible balance, the way he rushes his combinations and the gaping holes in his defence when he does, his absence of infighting ability and ofcourse his vulnerable chin.

I'm just saying that a guy who got schooled by Alexander doesn't pose any more of a threat, plus it would look strange to me to pass on a Khan fight to fight a guy that Khan beat. In fact, they might use last night's result to make Khan look better, like "hey, that guy that mauled Broner? Mayweather's fighting a guy that beat him!"

2 INCHES IN HEIGHT & EQUAL REACH, TO MY KNOWLEDGE. Tony PEP, WAS THE SAME HEIGHT RIGHT? AMIR , ONLY BRINGS AN OPTICAL ILLUSION MAN. i have seen every bout of this guys career, so know what im talking about. How many trainers, has he had? He need to look at himself first!

Now matter how you try and spin it, Maidana vs Mayweather would sell. The general public(you know the ones who spend Millions on fights) would absolutely buy it. And, thats all that really matters in a dancing partner.

Well, it would probably sell. I assume yesterday's (terrific) fight card had a shi!tton of spectators so Maidana would definitely make for a viable opponent from a financial point of view. Stylewise, I give him little chance against Floyd but you can't say he hasn't deserved it although I'd probably rather see Garcia fight Mayweather first.

I agree with you a 100%, i think i pretty much said so in my last post. But Khan may be a bigger PERCEIVED challenge, and in terms of being an ACTUAL challenge, i don't think Maidana is any more of a threat to Floyd. Maidana said it himself: Broner is no Floyd Mayweather.

I'd fucking love it. Maidana has deserved a good fight now. He is incredibly entertaining but I don't think a Mayweather fight would provide entertainment. Rather match him up with Bradley, Provodnikov, Garcia and the likes.

I don't think Money would've eaten a single of those wide, telegraphed swingers Broner ate left and right last night so there's that.

Just match Maidana up with someone high profile who will engage with him and make for a good fight.
