...And defended himself a bit better. I picked Broner to win a close, controversial UD on the strength of a kd, so I definitely picked wrong...and am happy that I did.

    Mayweather-Maidana, anyone?

It's all good. I thought Mathessye was going to beat Garcia and was wrong when I was sure there was no way Danny would come out the victor. Except if he landed a perfect left hook. Sometimes boxing gives fans the most unlikely outcome to discuss......this one for me was a very likely outcome.

First I was expecting Broner to KO Chino with a body shot never imagined that Maidana had such a fight in him. You are right that Broner is misusing the Philly shell. Against pressure fighters with heavy hands you can't just stay in the pocket and take shots all over your body without answering back. Either you make the other fighter pay constantly when he trows either you move. His answer to create distance was to push Maidana which was rather pathetic. Broner can get better but he have to work on his footwork. Also people might hate on him but he just took part in a great fight and honestly why people care so much about fighters background and character is beyond me.
