Not a fight that's around the corner most likely, Thurman seems to be focusing on the WW division for the time being. But down the line it might happen, since Thurman is a strong natural WW who's fought at 154 before. IF it ever happpens, you have a fight between 2 young hard-punching guys who have skills but who like to fight and throw with mean intentions, in which i can see Thurman's footwork and Canelo's lack of it giving Alvarez fits, but at the same time Canelo getting big counterpunching opportunities if Thurman doesn't learn to step in with his hands a tad higher. Who you got, ESB?
thurmans chin was exposed last night, canelo can take a punch. would be a good fight and a solid win for either guy.
Thurman's chin exposed atsch He got caught clean in the first 10 seconds when he wasn't warmed up and into the fight yet, wobbled a bit, never touched the floor and recovered quick to still win the first round. Any boxer or knowledgeable observer of the sport will tell you that getting caught early in the fight like that will get the toughest of fighters into trouble if they're not properly warmed up yet, but i guess you've never heard of the term 'getting caught cold'.
Thurman KO He got wobbled then put his hands down he wasnt hurt too badly, dont think Alvarez takes his punches Alvarez is actually a legit fighter its just his terrible stamina and slow footspeed makes him so beatable
I actually think Thurman is a more well rounder fighter than Canelo, and I most DEFINITELY think he's a bigger puncher. Canelo has good power, but Thurman's left hook can end a fights at a moments notice, which is not the type of power Canelo has. Not to mention, Thurman has MUCH better stamina. IF Canelo were to beat Thurman, he'd have to stop him early. If not, I think Thurman would take him into deep waters, where Canelo would tire and walk into a big hook that puts him away. So yeah, I'd pick Thurman.
Thurman was hurt BAD by a feather fisted fighter last night.. plus he's a WW...and Canelo is a solid Jmm. If Thurman fights a real fighter, he will be looking at the ceiling lights:hey
Thurman wasn't hurt "badly" at all. That's just non-sense. He got caught cold in the first 30 seconds, and got STUNNED/momentarily wobbled, then almost immediately regained his legs and recovered. When a fighter is "badly hurt" they stay hurt for awhile. That's not the sign of a bad chin either. That's the sign of a fighter getting caught cold and hurt. It happens. It happened to Crapnelo against Jose Cotto, or have people forgotten about that already? The bottom line is, other than being stunned in the first minute, from that point forward Thurman proceeded to beat the Hell outta Karass every round until he brutally KO'd him. It was a very good performance.
