Broner has some serious problems/flaws. He clowns too much which I hate from all fighters. He drops his hands too much, which alot of fighters do and I will never understand. One dissapointing thing to me is that his team never seems like they have a plan B and Im truly starting to wonder do they ever ever ever work on boxing or do they think he is just going to be able to fight this style against anyone no matter how far he moves up.

Now, with all that being said, I think there is one thing that people are truly underestimating. People dont give guys like Pac & Floyd enough credit. To move up and face huge guys is not easy. Its super hard to do and both have done that in short periods. People ripped Broner for the Paulie fight in terms of how he won and just for fighting Paulie anyone but I said that people are underestimating how impressive it is that he was just at SFW a couple of fights ago and now is fighting at WW. Thats impressive.

Now to add on to this point and my thread title. I was in Atlantic City for the Rees fight. Do people realize that fight was this year? Not only this year but it was just under 10 months ago and he only had 1 fight in between then against a good but feather fisted Paulie. My point is that Rees is such a tiny midget. To be in teh ring with a guy like that and now fighting Maidana who was 161 in the ring and top 3-5 hardest punchers in teh sport is night & day. Its a shock to your system.

I dont think people are understanding that fact. It was a bad move by his managment. After Maidana for Lopez I said that I truly thought he may be the hardest puncher in the sport right now. This is teh guy Broner is facing just months after facing guys like Rees? Its not even in the same Universe. You could just tell that he was so schocked. This was all too soon. Again, lets go even further. He just fought Escobedo last year. Do people realize this? That was a 130 pound fight and now one year later he's fighting at WW against a guy who is 161 in the ring and maybe the hardest puncher in the game. That is no easy task for anyone, espically if your plan is to not only go toe to toe but to walk him down.

Broner has skill. It needs to be fine-tuned but he has alot of skill. Still, that is not going to prepare you from basically going from one level to a crazy other level. He's fighting little guy, light punchers at 130 and months later he's fighting a huge WW that is like a Jr. MW on fight night and punches like a MW. It was just flat out a shock to his system but it doesnt mean he sucks.

Shouldve either eased him up in weight, eased him in with different level punchers, or made sure that his plan was to move alot. If not then you get shell shocked because getting hit by Escobedo & Rees is nothing like being hit by Maidana. Nothing alike. I mean just rewatch teh fights. Like I said, I was in AC. Now Im rewatching this fight. Its like 1st he was fighting a boy and now he's fighting a grown man. I know those punches hurt. He never felt anything even close to that. I know his face & body is all bruised up & sore.

he came from 140 but he isnt small. Floyd is 150 at Jr. MW, Maidana was 161 last night. Also, I disagree about the killer part. Again, I think he's just not that skillful but I cant name many bigger punchers. Also, people try to pin guys down like they stay the same forever but they dont. He's peaking right now and I think he's better than in the past. Khan made it but he was running for his life at the end and that version of Khan was still pretty solid and highly rated

Broner was the bigger guy on fight night 'unofficially'. in his last SFW fight he was 4lbs over at the weigh in! hes a big guy, there is little difference in size between maidana and him maidana just has more experience at WW.

as for he is the 3-5 hardest puncher!? i assume u mean p4p hardest puncher?

Did Broner not out weigh Maidana on fight night.

I hear Broner put on about a stone.

basically he was just at 130 a few fights ago and he fought Rees "this year". A lil midget. I was saying that its just a total shock to the system to go from taking a punch from Rees to just 2 fights later going toe to toe wtih a top 5 puncher in Maidana who was 161 in the ring. Its just going to be a shock that he wasnt prepared for. Its night & day. I was at the Rees fight and now Im rewatching this fight. Its like fighting a kid and then fighting a big grown man

Im not trying to downplay his weight. Im just talking about strictly what you are use to fighting and taking punches from. Its just going to be a shock to you. And yes, I meant P4P

Pacquiao went from fighting Marquez at 130, to Diaz at 135, to Oscar at Welterweight.

    Didn't bother him like Broner

I say that in my thrread, that people have to give Pac & Floyd major credit because most guys cant do stuff like that. Also, Pac was fighting smaller guys but HOF level guys so that somehwat prepares you. My point is going from getting hit by Rees to getting hit by maidana in one fight is just a shock to your system. I mean, Lopez fought Maidana, Canelo, and Ortiz and said that Maidana is the hadest puncher he's faced. Even Danny Garcia said they shouldve let him fight another guy who could punch before putting him in with Maidana because you could tell Broner wasnt ready to feel those shots.

It was over 1 min in when he partially blocked Maidana punch but still had that look like "WTF was that". That blocked shot was 10x harder then anything he ever felt before
