What British and Irish Amatuer boxers do you really want to see going pro?

From Scotland,

Joe Ham, Charlie Flynn, Aston Brown, Conner Law and Mark McKeown.

I think all of these will turn pro after the Commonwealth Games, and i think all of them will be able to compete at least at domestic level.

 

Barnes

 

Joe Ward, Jason Quigley & Michael Conlon. Ward especially.

 

Ward is an excellent fighter had him sparring in my gym 2 years ago
The pros will suit him down to the ground

 

Ward especially i think he would make an amazing Pro, Also Selby IMO really should have turned over already, Barnes also. In fact being from Ireland i'd love to see more of our top Amateurs going Pro, for some reason many don't turn over. Certain Amateurs we have IMO would make great pro's and win world titles. You'd have to say outside of Frampton our best boxers are all Amateurs, although Nevin has gone pro now.

 

You not fancy Josh Taylor to go pro or not think he's got a style that would suit?

 

I think Aston Brown and Mark McKeown will suit the pro game well...

 

Conrad Cummings would make a brilliant pro, destroyed Aston Brown in the WSB last year

 

Ward is the obvious one from Ireland but he's still only 20 years of age so maybe he takes a crack at Rio first. He's a thoroughbred fighting man and I would be surprised if he didn't have the goods to do very well in the pro game.

Barne's is a good little boxer and at only 26 still has the time to build a career. Two time Olympic medalist so he's no flash in the pan. He's a hot head though and given his difficulty accepting officialdom in the amateurs I thing the dirt and corruption of the pro's might be hard for him to take.

Both lads should head for the States if and when the time comes to step up. Wayne McCullough is the business model to copy.

there was a lad called Simon Corcoranof Stowe who got to the aba final in 2012 but dont know what hes doing atm as stowe have folded

 

Can't believe I forgot Josh!! Yes I think he would do well too, he would need to adjust his style just a little bit but I'm sure Terry McCormack can sort it out.

 

He's had offers that he's considering.
