Let me know when Pacquiao and Bob Arum come out and say they will take the 25% purse the mandatory gets. You're smoking rocks if you think Arum would go for that. It doesn't matter what Mayweather says. Manny and Arum would have to be absolutely stupid to only take a 25% cut of the purse. Even at 35%, that's kind of low-balling them.

Arum is a business man, and a very cunning one at that. If you think he'd take such a small cut in what is sure to be a 1 million+ PPV, you're nuts.


Regarding the thread: Pacquiao doesn't duck, he is a fighter. Bob Arum runs the show. Bob is the dictator of Top Rank Promotions, and has been for many years. Including when Oscar and Floyd were with him. If you go against Bob Arum while signed with Top Rank, he'll put you out to pasture or sue you if you try to break your contract. Bob Arum does not mess around.

If you think Bob Arum is stupid enough to only take 25% of the purse in a Mayweather/Pacquiao match up, you are insane. As a Pacquiao fan, I honestly see no scenario where Manny is only worth 25% of the purse as well. Manny has more drawing power than that, and it is sure to be a 1+ million PPV.

Sorry, I'm a grown up who works for a real business. It's about this thing called "profit." If you think Bob Arum would make less profit "just because," then you're just trying to troll. If you think about it logically and rationally without getting all emotional like you guys do, you'd realize from a business point of view it would make zero sense to take a 25% purse.

Because nothing will happen without Bob Arum's say so. Are you dense? Bob Arum "owns" Top Rank Promotions. It is "Bob's company." If you honestly believe Bob Arum will accept a 25% cut of the purse in a Pacquiao/Mayweather fight, you are absolutely insane, or just trying to troll. Example: Let's say it is a $100 million fight. You honestly believe Arum and Pacquiao would split $25 million and let Mayweather have $75 million? Seriously? Floyd offered Pacquiao $40 million and he hung up after saying "50/50" but now he's going to take a 25% purse which would be less than the $40 million that was offered before? Sure.....
