Broner was never a fan favourite? People watched his fights in the hope of seeing him lose. Now that's happened his viewing figures will start to decrease unless he is matched with a worthwhile opponent.

No, it's the way Sonnen sells it. He totally goes into a wrestler persona and talk. If Broner did this, he would actually be liked. But his act is put across as for real. He doesn't know how to properly use the heel role. If Broner did his homework right, you can be a heel and still be liked.

So Sonnen is being a fake dickhead, but AB is being a genuine one?

Not so much his fans as with Pacquiao...

It was Broner himself. I'm willing to bet all the people that went on a trolling rampage when Pac lost, had less of a problem with Pacquiao as a person than than people currently do with Broner as a person

My personal reason is it was good for boxing after all the gifts he got

Imagine if Sven Ottke was a human **** stain like Broner is then got beat up and it went to the scorecards then much to your suprise they had decided to give up hope on Ottke like they seem to have had with Broner :think

You saying he can't grow as a person? The one good thing from that ass whooping is it will make him a better person.

Sonnen is an analyst for the UFC. Broner would never be able to function in the role of say, Ward, RJJ, or Paulie. Oh, yeah, Paulie. The intelligent guy who KSAB but still loses all his major fights. He adds value to the sport and the network in spite of his trashtalking and losses, like Sonnen.

This. The guy talks a big game, loses, dusts himself off, gives the props, and prepares to talk a big game next time. There's nothing wrong with that.

Sonnen isn't intelligent because he has a college degree, but it may help with the way he presents himself. His strength is his insight into the technical aspects of MMA.

Exactly. Thurman is kind of the same way when he talks...very grandiose. So far he's backed it up, but I bet if you see him get KO'd he'll be back with the same persona because confidence sells.

    YOU GET IT!!!!!:good

I think people are happy because Broner often came across as highly arrogant and obnoxious. People dislike Mayweather for similar reasons, but Mayweather has calmed down a bit recently, and he also has the accomplishments to back up his boasting. Even when he gets criticism, he still gets respect for his great abilities in the ring. Broner doesn't have the same type of skill or accomplishments, so all that is left is his arrogant persona. Even Mayweather has implied that Broner has things that he needs to address, when he said that Broner 'has to know when to turn it on, and when to turn it off'.

The situation reminds me a little of Hamed and Barrera. I wasn't watching boxing at the time, but it sounds like a lot of people were really happy when the flashy, arrogant and undefeated fighter got soundly beaten and embarrassed by the tough, no-nonsense underdog. (Although I think Hamed was more entertaining and amusing than Broner.)

I think the biggest issue is that the public mainly see all the irritating stuff that Broner does (like apparently flushing money down the toilet) and not much that makes him relatable or sympathetic. It was good to see a glimpse of it in the Showtime All Access episode, where they gave us a clip of Broner when he was still a kid, talking to a reporter. He seemed quite serious and mature there. That's the kind of thing that helps. We'll also have to see how he reacts to this loss...if he does it in a graceful way, that might earn him some respect amongst boxing fans.

His black ass got manhandled for 12 rnds and the whole world witnessed it .

The crowd throwing drinks and cups at him likes he's **** made it even more enjoyable .

His idol is next . It's just inevitable . I hope everyone has their drinks and cups ready for his ass too .
