Dude, if you don't like black fighters then say so. What's gonna happen? Someone will call you a racist? Big deal, you are shrouded in anonymity behind your keyboard and monitor. Saying "it's the culture", is a pretty chicken**** way out. You really aren't fooling anyone partner...

What good points? By his logic anyone with a entourage should be hated.

You'll always have boxing fans that dislike even the most humble, nice guys, that's just the way it is, we all have different tastes. You've got people that don't like Darren barker, by all accounts one of the nicest guys you could meet, doesn't mean people hate him because he's white.

Look at the backlash against Carl froch for acting like a bit of a dick after the groves fight, it's his personality that has caused that, no one would even contemplate wether it's due to racism. Broner acts so much worse than Carl it can't be put into words, maybe a select few dont like broner because hes black but the overwhelming majority dislike him due to the way he acts.

Here is the problem, people love to pretend race isn't a factor at all. It seems like the absolute worst thing you can accuse someone of, especially a white person, is being a racist.

AB is a douche, a **** talker and people hate him, blah, blah, blah. It is frowned upon to be young, black and arrogant in the USA. Someone brought up Sonnen on another thread. Sonnen is an arrogant douche and has lost every big fight he's been in. He seems to get a free pass though.

Some good some bad mate. Good points being his criminal record (more specifically the crime he did), and how he portrays the image of being a 'thug'. Same reason why a lot of people dislike rap music. Not really the person just his image. His ****iness some people hate, i dont really care. His disrespect of humble opponents does not help him either. People just like to see someone like that get humbled

What i agree with is that to say people hate him because of skin colour is wrong.

A lot of people hate Carl Froch, and nobody suggests that it is because he is white, thats all

That's fair but why do some guys get a pass and others don't , my opinion Tyson is 10x the ass Broner is and people don't get on him?

They didn't do it like broner or mayweather in like 08 (he has calmed down a lot), and all those guys you mentioned have a huge white fanbase.

It isn't about race, there are tons of black people happy to see broner get his ass kicked.

I agree, although not at the same rate depending on which part of the world you are talking about.
Those situations are pretty common in the US and Mexico for example, but also not so common among the countries with very developed amateur program, with Cuba, Russian, ex Soviet and some continental European countries being a decent example.

It has very much to do with the culture. For example, people in Europe who are affiliated with boxing (to make it clear, it's a smaller percent of the people than it's in the US) have a big focus on the amateur boxing and events such as Olympic Games, European Championship and World Championship are something that's rarely missed. That's why Povetkin, Lomachenko, Russo, Cammarelle, Selimov etc and Cubans like Kindelan, Rigo, Solis and others are known in boxing circles and nobody heard of Broner and most of the Americans. Even Floyd isn't very known name, especially among the older guys. Of course, the heavyweights are always pretty common, therefore people usually know who the most HW champions are.

I myself watched Broner for the first time against Maidana and that was only because all of the hype surrounding him. He lost but to be honest he showed some skills and potential but totally lacked sportsmanship. At the moments he looked capable of beating Maidana who himself isn't something special but Broner also proved that he didn't deserve the hype he was receiving. Too bad the boxing in the US is mostly ruled by the media and promotes, thus some very deserving guys may never get their chance.

I dont get how dislike of Broner can be portrayed as a racial issue. If that was the case, the outpouring of elation would be similar every time a black boxer lost to a non-black boxer.

Considering the whole boxing world was not rejoicing in similar fashion just a week prior when Zab Judah lost to Paulie M, it seems like the reasonable conclusion is people just did not appreciate the way Broner acted.
