Can you imagine Wilder fighting for the title? There is a very real possibility of it happening too.

Anyway, good luck to Vitali on his political career.

There are still in the top 10 because he only fought guys from the WBC. There was a whole other division out there that didn't apply to him and he still found a way out of his mando.

America isn't as tolerant in having a champ feast on non rankers like Germany is and even less in having one who fouls and mugs his way to victory.
    We're getting there.

One can definitely poke holes in his career, no question there, but at the same time he did at least step up to the plate and fight Lewis, and lost in a very good effort. I've always personally thought he was unlucky not to get a rematch.

I've always preferred Vitali to Wlad personally. He had a proper fighter's mentality and went head to head with the best man in the division.

A Klitschko retires, and the sports world mutters a collective "meh."

What a great fighter he has been.First time I saw him he destroyed Herbie Hide,a lot easier than Riddick Bowe did it.I couldn't separate him and Lewis.Nobody really knows what would have happened in that fight. Our loss is probably Ukraines gain.Ive got a feeling hell be more honest than the average politician.Bring on the elimination tournament now.

I agree about losing those 4 years. Much like Ali, we might have missed his very best. Lewis didn't take the re-match because he likely losses it. 18 million was up for Lewis, and his mouth painted him into a corner. I wish he accepted the rematch. What a night for boxing that would have been!

The list of heavyweight who exited the game game with their title, wealth and wits intact is a short one. Gene Tunney, Rocky Marciano, Lennox Lewis can welcome Vitali to the club.

Sports world in a global sense does not say meh. Vitlai likely has over 400 million people who know his name.

    Dino,

Do you even watch Vitali? He seldom fouls or holds at all. Vitali still holds wins over three top ten rated people by Ring Magazine. Adamek, Arreola, and Solis.

You are not smart enough to be a dangerous player hater.

You were not smart enough in your reading comprehension to see i was referring to Wlad.

What i say about Vitali reflects exactly what happened in his career. Call it hate if it makes you feel better.

And you're insane if you think 400 million people know who Vitali is.

300 million people in the Ukraine, Kazahkstan, Russia and Germany alone. 400 million may be a stretch but not a big one.

You think the population of those country's combined are all boxing fans? lol

His name wasn't big enough to fill more than half of the stadium when he fought in Moscow.

Major news networks never once mentioned his involvement in the ukrainian riots because nobody knows who he is.

Good luck to him in his future endeavours.

Wlad can be around for a few years yet, but the post Klitschko era is starting to look like a very real prospect, and a very bleak one!

When Alexander the great lay on his death bed, and was asked who should replace him, he replied “the strongest”.

When Wlad retires, there may be no such thing!

Bleak?? The division will come alive when they are both out. Bum fights need to be eradicated from the HW championship.

If the future is bleak, what would you call it now when the unified champ fights his unknown sparring partner , a full time fork lift operator and can't beat a half decent opponent without corrupt refs and endless fouling.

The division can only get better when they gone. Not worse. Get a grip janitor , yeah?
