How did Amir Khan stay on his feet against Maidana but Broner couldn't?

there's a lot of factors that go into knockdowns. that's why peculiar things seem to happen.

Khan didn't take the sustained beating Broner did. Khan had the speed and movement to stay away for long periods of the fight so only had the odd moment of crisis to overcome. Broner was getting hit flush repeatedly even in the rounds he was winning.

We **** on Khan for having poor defensive skills but compared to Broner he's Willie Pep. Broner actually showed an OK chin he just got hit A LOT from a big puncher. Khan was hit with only 122 power punches almost half of them landed in the last 3 rounds. Broner ate 231 power punches so almost double and these were taken throughout the fight.

Had Khan eaten 31 power shots in a single round like Broner did in the 2nd then he would very likely have been dropped. Had Khan walked into as many shots as Broner did he would have been KO'ed.

 

Maidana has improved, and Broner didn't fight as petrified as Khan did. Broner also didn't have the ref on his side.

this is starting to become ridiculous khan beats a puncher at his own weight division and broner beats the same guy 3 years later who's improved his skills and is 2 weight divisions above him(broner was campaigning at 135 early this year, beating paulie does'nt count for much)

 

The early body shot drained his power. Damage to the body doesn't go away.

Referee Cortez was also helping him and perhaps because he was fighting in his own turf with home crowd

 

Apparently, Khan has a better chin than Broner. He got hit way more, and even heavier, without going down.
His defence sucks big time.
