What is one thing others have not done against Mayweather that would have led them to victory? They did not force the fight. Seeing his win over Adrian Broner from Saturday night, Maidana proved he can force a fight and he forced Broner to fight and we saw who the better fighter was. Not the better boxer- the better fighter. Roberto Duran I believe is the best I have ever seen at forcing a fight and taking things to the inside. He was quoted as saying that in his day Mayweather would be "just another fighter." He laid out his plan for beating Mayweather before the Alvarez fight which would be to bully Mayweather into the ropes and beat his ribs, his arms and whatever else until he got him immobile enough to work upstairs. Did Canelo do this? Of course not. As long as you box Mayweather, you will lose unless you're somebody really special at the right point in your career. "Money" knows all the tricks and has all the skills to get through any tough boxing match. However in a real fight scenario when he is forced onto the ropes and given no choice as Maidana did against Broner, I think we seethe end of the "0". Now with that said if these two do get together, I think Maidana should come out just the same as he did against Broner and beat Mayweather to the punch and push him into the ropes and make it a rough fight from the beginning. He definitely has the tools to make for a long night for Mayweather. However his one big flaw I can see is possibly stamina. He will have to be on Mayweather the whole fight. That is guaranteed. However if he can stay on him and cut the ring off effectively and make it a fight and not allow it to slip into a boxing match, "Chino" has a very good chance. Broner is no Mayweather by any means, but let's give Maidana credit here. Twenty-seven previous guys did not do much against Broner with the exception of Malignaggi. And Maidana more or less walked over him all night. Mayweather is no great mystery. He is a slick boxer and very smart business man. Hence the name "Money." However it will take a rough and tumble fighter to beat him. Not one of these guys who stays on the outside the whole time. I think Mayweather got really excited to fight Canelo after the Austin Trout fight where Alvarez fought predominantly from the outside in what was a much closer fight than the judges scored. Robert Guerrero did the same as did most others outside of De La Hoya and Castillo both of who actually could be argued to have wins over him anyway. If Maidana does get the fight, my advice to work on stamina as much as possible and go into it just like he did with Broner. He has an excellent chance and either way the fight would be great for boxing.

    Maidana has no chance.

"He has an excellent chance and either way the fight would be great for boxing."

No... it would be yet another Guerrero/Ortiz boring mismatch... The only fight Mayweather can have which would be great for boxing and himself is Pacquiao...

Maidana would have a chance. The current Maidana is a cut above those two, an off night against Grab-on Alexander does not change that.

Didn't read because of the wall of words, but Maidana has two chances at beating Mayweather: slim & none.

Maidana at 147 looks better to me at this point than those two when they fought him. Canelo and Cotto are solid opponents, but both are somewhat overrated. Cotto was not particularly impressive vs shot to sh*t Margo a few months before.
Canelo was too green with only one really good win over a guy that was fully butt naked style exposed by Lara (but beat Cotto). Canelos style is also a pretty bad one vs. Floyd. And then there is the catchweight.

A lot of people would probably strongly disagree.

why are people have to be always like this? one dominant performance and he's superman. . .

I give chino props but as a non floyd fan. . . . Maidana doesn't belong in the same ring with floyd

that would be a Gatti esque beating

If he doesn't then who do? Pacquiao of course, but that's not happening.
The obstacle to get Mayweather used to be Andre Berto ffs
Maidana is a way more live dog than 147 Guerrero.

maidana would definitely put mayweather outside of his comfort zone, make him clinch, elbow, push and potshot his way to a unaninamous decision. it would still be fun to see mayweather get hit and made uncomfortable. if broner could make floyds life miserable and land a few big shots early, u never know he might pull off an upset no matter what the *****s say. i would say using the tactics he used against broner he would have a slightly higher chance than his last 5 opponents.

I am curious as to what excuse you will use if Floyd fights and beats Maidana. You have them all laid out about his previous opponents.

You are out of your mind if you think Maidana gets close enough to land anything of significance against Mayweather. I will give Maidana credit, he won't stop trying.
