    Neither

But the offensive fighter would be the one fans route for and admire...and would probably win due effort and punch output.

  3. Extraordinary offense, but if you are insinuating that Pacquiao has extraordinary offense and that it would penetrate Mayweathers extraordinary defense, then you are mistaken.

Pacquiao has good offense, mayweather has extraordinary defense and great offensive skills.

The offence. (if both just as good)

There won't be much effective agression but that guy would be the one pushing and making the fight. If the judges are on the level of course.

Don't mean to turn this into a Mayeather Pacquaio thread but to say Pacs offense is just 'good' is ridiculous. His offense is extraordinary - the best in the game.

An extraordinary offense usually trumps the best defense. After all if you're defending, you're not throwing punches. The best is a combination of both obviously but I think judges like fighters who throw a lot of punches more and so do I. They make the fight happen. It's kind of like a bull and a bullfighter. With no bull forcing the action, the crowd has nothing to watch. A great defense is a great thing to have and few fighters do, but for fan appeal and more excitement, a great offense means more. As far as Pacman and Mayweather, Mayweather's defense is great but his offense is not. He's more calculating and precise where as Manny is more offensive and it's really hard for me to see buying a ticket to a Mayweather fight since it's going to be a snoozefest but I would love to see Pacman live since I will be seeing an aggressive fighter come out blazing as he usually does and from a historical aspect, how many Mayweather fans are going to watch his fights over and over? Manny is way more entertaining and I've watched several of his fights again and again. When you really think about it, entertainment value always favors those who press the action whether they win or not. So I have to go with great offense in the end.

Has anyone defended well against Hearns? In addition to a great defense, I think you need to have some power to hold back the best offensive fighters in order to win.
