Prime Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Prime Roy Jones Jr More Unbeatable

Neither has ever been close to unbeatable. Jones never even used a jab. Once his speed left, he's been slapped over and over. And any how unbeatable was Floyd against Castillo?

Floyds loss to Castillo, which he did avenge- coupled with his paper thin résumé ( tim Bradley has a better résumé in his last 10 fights than floyd has in his last 15 years) his lack of marquee names, his lack of ko power

Floyd was challeged in his prime . Roy never was ok the first griffen fight was a lil competitive but roy if without the dq was knocking him out anyway.

Didn't prime Jones lose to Montell Griffin?? I know it was bs but remember in all sports a loss is a loss a victory is a victory. Floyd is still undefeated.

hahaha, he was DQ'd after knocking Montell down and then hitting him while he was down. On the rematch Jones whooped him inside 2 rounds, I think it was the first. But the first fight Jones dominated and was dq'd
You cant setiously take that away from him, it had zero effect on his legacy. a DQ in a fight you were dominating and then come back to starch the same guy. the DQ and L was irrelevant

 

Who gives a **** about washed up jones. Prime Jones was unbeatable in that era and any to follow. We will never see a talent like him again, trust me.

 

It was the first round. I remember that fight clearly. Jones basically knocked Montell clear across the ring with a hook before going at him to finish him. I think it was over in about 90 seconds!

RJJ in his prime looked like he was on a different level to everyone else including Mayweather. He was such a freak of nature (or chemical enhancement) that he simply didn't look beatable at least against the level of opposition he was facing.

But Jones Jr did lose in his prime to Griffin. But technically so did Mayweather in the first fight against Castillo. Fact is no man is unbeatable, if you face the best possible opposition regularly. Anyone is unbeatable if you have some talent and carefully pick your opposition which both Mayweather and Jones Jr have been guilty of doing.

 

Not sure about the answer. Both men were dominant in different ways.

But the Castillo comments are silly. Floyd clearly beat Castillo, although he was not as dominant as he normally is. But that doesn't matter because FLOYD WAS NOT IN HIS PRIME WHEN HE FOUGHT CASTILLO.

 

Come on. Roy Jones was a wrecking machine in his prime, with supreme speed and power. Still think Jones is one the best to ever do it. He was amazing to watch.
