Another fact, you could end a fight faster with a straight 1-2 than tryin to kick someone in the head or trying to take them to the ground and trying to choke them or bend a joint a way it shouldn't be bent. And real men do fight on their feet with just their fists. That's how gentlemen fight. Tackling someone to the ground cause you're getting beat is an act of a desperate man.
Freddie Roach actually said (a few years ago now) that the only UFC fighter who could be successful in boxing if he made the switch would be BJ Penn.
They'd probably know more about him/boxing than a casual MMA fan would about Jhonny Hendricks or any other MMA fighter simply because it's more mainstream.
I've said this before the WWE isn't the end all be all. You can make a name for yourself in Japan and TNA Wrestling. Yeah maybe not the same siize, but on the wrestling scene you can have a decent following. Plus UFC not really look at ONE FC you can make a name for yourself over there and Bellator. Any promotion that has TV you can make a name for yourself. It's up to you on how you market yourself.
No that's called defending yourself. A smart person wouldn't stand toe to toe. Fighting has evolved from that. Boxing is just one SMALL aspect of fighting. I respect Boxing a lot though. Just love Pro Wrestling and MMA. Like I said all three will still be around. I like the BKB thing.
Lol at wwe and tna you cannot be seriously comparing that garbage to a sport of any discipline. I know there's a lot of dummies out there by do people/adults actual really watch it with interest? I don't know in uk only kids watch it
And again, who are the main stars of these organisations? How much did they make at the gate? How many people went to see them? How many people paid for the PPV? How do you not get what I'm saying? UFC is in the mainstream, that's it. How many different small organisations are out there in any sport? And how many of them would be recognised walking down the street? UFC (and by UFC I mean MMA because it's all that matters in MMA) had it's day and is now nose diving. Once UFC goes, MMA goes.
This conversation always turns into an MMA vs. Boxing thing, which I hate. But what I really dislike is comments like "boxing is only a small part of fighting." That is a fundamental misunderstanding of boxing as a whole. Boxing is not just Am and Pro boxing. BKB, Clench Boxing, Am, Pro, all of that is boxing. Am and Pro boxers limit their repatoir for competition, but you can bet your ass many of them know and can execute the dirty part of boxing. An educated boxer, meaning a complete boxer, with a knowledge of range, angles, counter-punching, clench boxing, in-boxing, etc. would tear someone the f*ck up. Full on pugilism, Boxing, is a indeed a 7 point attack system (Head butts, shoulder pushing/smashing, elbows, fists.) that has THE MOST street/ real life usability second only to wrestling/ folk wrestling. Hell, boxing has a whole subset of grappling and footwork completely developed for dealing with grappling. Just keep in mind, Broughton era/ London Prize era we essentially the birth of MMA. It included grappling and submission, pugilists had to know all of it because wrestlers/grapplers were involved in prize fighting as well. Boxing is so much more than Pro boxing, MMA fans need to give it the credit it deserves...
No, it's not called "defending yourself". It's a cowardly act of a desperate man. Boxing is a small aspect of fighting but it's how a fight should be, with your fists one on one. Kicking or hitting someone on the ground isn't a fight, it's a cowardly mugging. Smart? Dont be stupid, a "smart" person wouldn't get himself into a fight in the first place. Fighting has not evolved. That is just rubbish being fed to gullible idiots who believe that shite by MMA heads (Joe Rogan). MMA is just glorified street fighting that is turning (turned) into 15 minute wrestling (man-hugging).
I was making a point and Pro Wrestling training is harder than MMA training. King Mo and Rampage said that. This is coming from a person who LOVES MMA and Pro Wrestling.
Dude you are such a noob. You are a fail troll. Over 16,000 came to see Collegiate Wrestling. People still came and they sold tickets. So try to idiot that. I guess your definition of debating is insulting oters and calling them idiots. Boxing will go before MMA goes. Pro Boxing has done a lot of dirty sh.it. I like Boxing and some Amateur Boxing, but i'll never love it. Have fun fail troll.
