Ali would knock Wlad out within 2 rounds.

Wlad hasn't beaten any fighter of note or who will be remembered as an ATG.

3 or 4 Ali has beaten opponents would knock Wlad out within three round.

The second Wlad tried his grabbing, hugging and wrestling on the 1970's George Foremen is the minute he would be getting KTFO.

Glass shatters as has been proven by journeymen who landed on Wlad.

    Absolutely ridiculous thread.

    So you're saying the 6'6.5" 245lb Wladimir wouldn't be able to outmuscle a 6'3" and 217lb Foreman?

its not about outmuscle, its about his chin, and foremans 2nd to none power.

sure wlad can survive the match by running and jabbing and clinching and thenwrestling continuously in a circle, but this wont win him a match. weigh up that 15 rounds of survival against foreman only needing to land once. the odds are not good for wlad.

now if you could somehow with gene science splice together wlad's skills and vitalis toughness, into ONE body, then you might have a fight on your hands.
mind you, gene splicing might end up with wlads chin and vitalis skill LOL and then he gets koed faster in round 1.

I know there is a really strong desire by many to discredit Wladimir, but young George doesn't beat him. George was a fairly flat footed and slower fighter, he didn't have great defense, and he did a poor job of covering distance. He'd be open to the jab, right, and hook from a range he cannot reach.

Ali would fustrate him and possibly KO him in the late rounds or maybe sooner. Wlad has a glass chin and Ali was quick enough to touch his jaw with flush shot.

With respect to the results of this poll, even though I think a prime Ali (who we never seen btw, since he wasn't allowed to fight from aged 24-27) would be favored to beat Wlad I don't really envision Ali being able to KO Wlad. He wasn't an overly powerful puncher, he wasn't a body puncher and he wasn't an overly aggressive puncher. He was more of a pure boxer.

As long as Wlad could keep the fight on the outside you'd be correct, but Foreman had a good chin and if he got inside Wlad's punches he would hit him with punches Wlad's never felt before, and if I have to choose between Foreman's power and Wlad's ability to withstand a punch, I'm picking Foreman power.

spot on. if ultraelusive Ali was getting caught by foreman, then much slower wlad is.

Wlads has fake built up gym strength. He has to hoist himself on top of smaller guys to over power them. A huge hitter yes, but his physical strength is all water weight.

What Foreman had was raw , natural brute strength. He didn't need to climb your back to man handle you.

Ali, by that point in his career, was not ultra elusive. Ali's style was predicated on being the taller and rangier man in the ring, against Foreman he was not. That's why Foreman was able to tag him. Against Klitschko, Foreman has to cross a lot more real estate against a much bigger and harder hitting man than Ali.

He was not poor at covering distance and was in fact very good at cutting off the ring.
