Muhammad Ali at his best vs. Wladimir Klitschko at his best, who wins?

I watched Wlad's last fight and if you think that version of Wlad is beating Foreman then you know **** about boxing. I've been watching boxing for over 40 years and I don't recall a more pathetic display of holding/wrestling/grabbing in my life.

And as for Wlad's chin, I wouldn't want to be the guy who's defending that. Peter's had him down what 4 times, Brewster had him down, and Sanders destroyed him. Nobody destroyed Foreman the way Sanders destroyed Wlad. No reason to think Foreman who is one of the hardest punchers of all time, couldn't do the same thing if he were to get close to Wlad.

 

Ali struggled against defensive boxers - Jones, Norton, Young. He was never that good at pressuring opponents nor at blocking the punches. Ali kept his right hand low and that left him open to counter jabs and left hooks. That would cost Ali dearly against fast HW with size and reach advantage like Wlad. Wlad is a much better technical boxer than Ali, has a power left jab like Holmes had that backs his man up and finishes with a quick, devastating right cross or overhand right. Wlad is much taller than Ali and much heavier and stronger. Wlad would outjab Ali to a comfortable UD.

 

Ibagimov drew with Austin and retired after Wlad, Peter was unskilled and nearly lost to a fat middleweight.

 

Depends which version of Ali you're talking about. When never really got to see Ali in his prime, but the 24 year old version was too quick to get hit very often, which is why Liston quit. He's jab was timed and it turned out to be faster than SRR's that's how fast a prime Ali was. And no Wlad isn't much taller than Ali, he's maybe 3 inches taller and their reach is only 1" difference. (Wlad's is 81" and Ali's is 80")

Wlad might be a better technical fighter, but boxing is 90% mental and Ali wins that contest, no way would a fighter like Brewster, or Sanders destroy him, the way both did against a prime Wlad. Ali fought with a broken jaw, no hope in hell of Wlad doing the same.
