Broner's Mental Toughness and Ability to Withstand Body Shots

    Maidana went after Broner's liver like a hungry wolf running down fat sheep! I counted nearly 40 EXTREMELY vicious left hooks that landed RIGHT on Broner's liver and Broner took all of em and didn't flinch once. I gotta give it to Broner, this guy has a very strong body and his ability to take punishment to the body ranks up there with the toughest guys in the sport. He showed good mental toughness too, the punishment he took was brutal, let's face it 90% of all of the current 140-147 fighters right now would have surrendered and stayed down taking that caliber of punishment.

    But I don't know how far his ability to take punishment will take him in the sport of boxing. If his management is not smart enough to protect their precious money maker and throw him in against vicious killers like Provodnikov, Matthysse, etc I see him having an extremely short career and retiring before the age of 30. If that was Provodnikov in there brutalizing him last week, he would still be in a hospital right now. I think that in this sport, the ability to take punishment is actually detrimental to the long term career of the fighter because at the end of the day these guys are all still human beings and the damage they take to the body and the brain will keep accumulating and once the brain damage signs start showing up, it's over, the nervous system has already become dull and it has become too late to take a break and heal.

    ya, broner can take a body punch, maybe better than anyone his size or smaller. i'll give him that. should get triple G to smack him on the sides a couple times just to test.

    Maidana won 9-3 in rounds with 2 KD's. i would rather praise the winner than the loser. War Chino!!!. Broner was easy work AB equals Ass beat.

    Yeah I remember your so called "truth" when you stated that "Broner would eat Provodnikov up on the side." Yeah right, get out of here with that. You can't bull**** like that and expect people to take you seriously.

    There's a 1000 threads doing exactly that and that's obvious but Broner showed damn good mental and physical toughness in that fight.

    Didn't win him the fight though. Maidana was better and tougher. War Maidana and all that Jazz. Sorry for derailing your thread. I'm drunk:good. Props for Broner for lasting the 12 as i thought he was a gonna a few times in that fight so yeah he is tough.

    Provodnikov is not Maidana nor are his shots as heavy.he also doesn't have the same size advantage.. he's qucker though.

    my pick still stands.

    No way he eats Prov up inside. Broner's best chance at beating Provo is to use his speed and beat Provo from the middle of the ring. Make it an inside fight and Provo stops him. Also Maidana didn't have size advantage. It was Broner finally fighting a guy his size. :deal

    who has he beaten outside of Alvardo, who rios KO'd quicker, and has no amateur experience. decent win, nothing special.

    Corely arguably beat him, Herrera beat him. dude is not this invincible monster people paint him as, and if he fights rios, people will find out.

    Maidana has a significant reach advantage over Provodnikov but Provodnikov is the more dangerous and vicious fighter, he's also extremely tough and durable.

    Provodnikov would brutalize Rios to the point where he would never be the same again.
