Mayweather already making excuses to duck Lara

After following the sport for so long, it's only fair to say that Mayweather is doing what this generation wants him to do. If he fought tough opponents and lost he will be labeled a fraud, just like Broner is being labeled today with people completely ignoring the fact that he decided to fight a tough opponent. Cotto fights the best, loses, and is labeled a glass jawed joke after his losses. The examples are endless really. It's best to carefully manage your career, make a lot of money and give the public what they can relate to best, which is the middle finger in all its glory.

 

I think Lara, of all legit opponents right now, presents the most problems for Floyd. Let's face reality though, the cuban market is small. Look at the great Rigo's last fight, the viewer numbers were really bad. Floyd v Lara does worse than Floyd v Guerrero in PPV numbers. SHO would say no to that fight.

Lara is a rangy southpaw with great footwork and decent handspeed. Awkward as hell, a thinking fighter, and a nightmare for anyone. His fan base is less than Rigondeaux and that spells disaster for a PPV fighter. I would love to see this fight happen, but it's getting stale to presume any fight that Mayweather doesn't take is a fight he will definitely lose. Remember all the guys saying Mayweather wouldn't fight Canelo, or even Mosley.

 

Yer he's carefully managing his career to stop some no mark on a forum commenting unfavorably about him.

And please, Broner was garbage, and always has been, you can't compare a fraud like that with Mayweather, who's been at the top for over 15 years.

 

I will bet anyone in this thread a lifetime ban that he will not fight Lara.

Lara lost to Molina, and Martirosyan. He got busted up, and dropped twice by Angulo. Gtfoh. Canelo would destroy Lara. And so would Floyd. I swear people on ESB are delusional.
