    Who wins this?

IBF Lightweight Champion Miguel Vazquez 33(13)-3-0 defends his belt against undefeated Russian Denis Shafikov 33(18)-0-1in China on the 22 Feb.

Vazquez will be coming off a 13 month lay-off following his win over Mercito Gesta

For me these are two massively underrated and under appreciated fighters.

I say with a great deal of confidence Miguel Vazquez- while he would likely get robbed on the scorecards, would've given Adrien Broner a boxing lesson had, when Broner moved up to lightweight, broke the habit of a lifetime and fought the strongest champion in a weight class and not the weakest and most limited. And although I like Burns, had the unification with Vazquez taken place earlier this year, Vazquez would've schooled him too with or without a broken jaw.

So I'm picking Vazquez right? Wrong. Shafikov is a special all round talent. And for me he beats everyone in the division including Vazquez, Burns, Gamboa, Crawford, Beltran, Abril, Figueroa, etc.

Check out this total schooling of Lee Mcallister:

Shafikov will pick up the title here than be avoided like the plague for several years. The only guy at Lightweight or below I wouldn't flat out pick him head to head with is Mikey Garcia.

It will be more fun than Lara vs. Trout was. :conf (...and I didn't find it all that boring myself...)

This is turning into a good little card:

Olympic Gold Medalists Egor Mekhontsev, Zou Shiming, Ryota Murata.

Apparently there are also plans to add Simpiwe Vetyeka (man who beat Chris John) vs Akfumi Shimoda.

    :happy

His rematch with Ammeth Diaz was cancelled on the day of the fight I think and the fight with Burns not long before.

I am glad and amazed you are actually interested about these talents like shafikov etc.

I have seen pretty much every tsingis khaan fight but not many vazguez bouts.
Shafikov is fun to watch and dude can box. He is only 5 feet 5 inches tall so vazguez has massive height and reach avdvantage.

Bob Arum said "Vazquez is very difficult to beat because he is such a good boxer, but if there's anyone who can beat him, it's a guy like Shafikov, who puts on non-stop pressure,"

There is a lot more to Shafikov than just a pressure fighter. That quote makes him sound like Brandon Rios or something

    Good point.

That will probably be the main event though so we can probably just stop watching after the penultimate fight :deal
