I'm not sure what the story is here, boxers can still fight in the WSB if they have less than 20 pro fights, although I don't know if a boxer is allowed juggle pro fights and WSB fights.

I assume there is no explicit rule against it considering that Barnes has already signed a contract with D&G Milano Thunder for this season's WSB and yet he is still looking at turning pro.

If it is allowed it would hardly be a hassle for Barnes considering his first few pro fights will consist of him knocking out eastern europeans in the first round

Barnes will make a great Pro IMO wonder will he stay around Ireland and the UK or go Stateside, Barnes could be good for the Frampton cards in Belfast.

Sturm seems to by keeping his cards close to his chest as to who he fights next, will be 35 in January so will take his time to ensure a few more pay days, this is where i see Andy Lee coming in,not in the top 15 IBF rankings and Sturm might view this as a good chance for a defence as Barker was the mandatory fighter he might be able to pick the next few,Andy has fought a few times in Germany so watch this space.

there was an irish regiment in the spainish army a few hundred years ago comprising of deserters from the irish, that had deserted the british army in mainland europe... there was several thousand of them... so there is a possibility that quite a few irish surnames exists among certain areas of spain where these soldiers settled

Conrad Cummings is after going pro with McGuigan and Cyclone Promotions. Will be trained by Shane McGuigan. Great move! Cummings is strong as an Ox and had probably the best pro style of all the current amateurs

How many boxers does Barry have on his books now?

Sturm very strongly favours a Barker rematch (big money for jam so why wouldn't he!). But I think we can safely say Barker is "Kaput" for good. Even if he "recovers" I doubt the rematch would have any credibility. Would YOU pay to see it? Neither would I.

Whether this does anything for Andy Lee is another story......

Not just Spain, worldwide. The Irish were the original mercenaries. We fought in many wars for many different countries.
