You claim that Mayweather shouldn't claim he is the best because he hasn't fought the best. What makes Lara the best? The only person you can say he hasn't fought is Pacquiao given the circumstances(unless you ignore all the circumstances). Please break down how Floyd is not the best professional boxer in the world right now? Please explain how we should use your ranking system insead of the opinions of boxers, writers, trainers and other experts, if you have one. Please, tell me how all of these Cubans are better than Mayweather. Use facts, and not your opinion.

It's shame that boxing is just about business and the system is to blame. If the sport was organized like amateur boxing, you'd be sure that you'll see the best fight the best.
It's not Mayweather to blame, because he just wants to earn money, just like the most of fighters. Even if Lara wasn't a threat, I doubt that Floyd would choose to fight him next because there are more marketable opponents out there and that's really bad about professional boxing.

It seems that the fighters now in general don't seek to prove to the world that they are the best by defeating the best fighters, but to present themselves to the general public as the best.

Look at Canelo Alvarez, he defeated Trout by a disputed decision. He was hyped up to the maximum despite not really being the most skilled boxer out there. If you look at his wins, what did he prove? What did he do to deserve everything he got?

Lara on the other hand, comes from a Cuban boxing school, has good amateur background, but how much did that help him? He isn't popular because there isn't a huge Cuban public and he is overlooked by the popular fighters because he is a threat. He just schooled Austin Trout, the same guy Canelo couldn't beat without a little help from the judges. Now he has WBA Regular belt, and if Lara vs. Canelo doesn't happen in 2014, it would be really a shame.

And as for the people calling Lara and Rigo boring, they don't know much about the sport.

Lara is in his first division, Mayweather coming up through the ranks fought everyone in front of him too. If Lara had a 17 year career culminating in his 5th division, he would pick and choose the best opponents to maximize his purse. You have no grasp on reality. This system was not created by Mayweather, and it won't end with him. Weak opposition like Cotto, Mosley, De la hoya, Hatton, Marquez, Corrales, Castillo, and Canelo. All ranked guys who had a name. Your God struggles with Molina, Vanes, and Angulo.
