Your thoughts? What's his real ranking (at HW, not cruiserweight) based on achievements, not abilities?

There is something screwy about box rec all time ratings. I don't get how a guy with a 46 and 24 record ranks at 24 and Vitali ranks at 38. Can anyone figure this out?

    Isn't boxrec's rankings computerized?

Yes. But I still don't get how a guy with a 46 and 24 record ranks higher than a guy who was 45 and 2.

I haven't really thought about it, but is it so terribly unreasonable?

There isn't really much point ranking anybody in any weight class from this era until 10 years after it's finished. Take Lennox Lewis for example. At the time nobody would have thought his win over Vitali would turn out to be his best ever win.

Valuev is ranked above Haye which doesn't make alot of sense.

I can sort of undersand that as Valuev had way more wins (50) than Haye (26) and the same number of losses.

His paper title defenses against Ruiz(old as dirt, on losing streak) and Audley(garbage fighter, fixed fight.."NOW") are the stuff of legend.

Hollywood couldnt write a better script.

    I think it's fair...100 champions, then 50 contenders?

Both Haye and Vitali should demand their fights being broadcasted again in black and white. That would make a lot of difference.

But seriously, Haye shouldn't be ranked very high.
Having a paper title and his defences clearly doesn't score much points in that regard.
