Good for Adrien. He did very well in the middle rounds after being able to survive early on, the 2nd knockdown was very unexpected as Broner up to that point was looking good and fighting well in the center of the ring. At the time it looked like Maidana was gassed by the 7th-8th and than he was able to knock down Broner a 2nd time and change the momentum of the fight with that KD. If Broner stays away from the ropes and is a lot more cautious early on I think he'd actually do very well in a rematch. That being said, I thought he should consider going down to 35 or 40 and campaigning there for a while. But Maidana is beatable and I commend Broner for wanting an immediate rematch.
I'm not a gambler, but i'd lay money on Maidana ending the hype permanently within 4 rounds in a rematch. Even a gassed Maidana was winning rounds against Broner. Broner has no defense, and is a sucker for the left hook. He is a one trick pony who doesn't have enough grey matter to make changes. Broner only troubled Maidana once in the fight, and Maidana was gassed, Maidana buzzed Broner with every clean shot. Man against boy.
Broner gets lots of respect Mayweather should be learning from Broner, not the other way around Broner don't need no ducking lessons from Mayweather Sr
he needs this fight and he needs to school maidana chino is so ****ing limited its a disgrace that broner got owned so hard get freddie roach dont stand in front of chino stick and move
I don't think it's reasonable to expect him to suddenly develop decent footwork at this point. He has never had any sort of work rate in any sense, really. Maidana could (going by what we saw) outbox him pretty easily if he doesn't feel like he has to get the KO.
From Broner? He's never really fought like that - he moves around but he has to stop and stand his ground to fight. He doesn't have the defence to adequately fight like that either; moving backwards and getting tagged by a harder puncher isn't going to rack up many points.
It takes some serious courage to want an immediate rematch against someone that bullied him all the way. Losing this could spell doom for his entire career.
I commend Adrien for wanting to step right back into the lions den. The good news is he can't do much worse and he will have more time to acclimate to the welterweight division. I think the kid should consider jr welterweight and to stay away from the immediate rematch, but like a lot of boxers its hard accepting your first defeat.....I remember Shane wanted the immediate rematch against Vernon years back but when he got it the results were the same. Broner has power and he hurt Marcos to the body which should be part of his game plan if he is able to get the rematch.
