Round 1

Benmakhlouf is lifting and dropping his guard while tiptoeing away from Jones, who leans forward and crosses his forearms over his face before springing up with left hooks. Benmakhlouf is driven back, catching jabs on the guard and backpedaling quickly to avoid the hooks launched up at him from a crouch. Lunging 1-2 by Jones, sidestepped. Benmakhlouf moves in and presses down into Jones, guard on guard. Left upper-hook by Jones while turning Benmakhlouf, circling out to mid-range and then closing back in to hack the body in a brief clinch. Jones turns his left shoulder up and pivots on the outside, watching Benmakhlouf and ready to slip a jab. Benmakhlouf only feints and doesn't throw one.

Round 2

Benmakhlouf is jabbing at the body and plodding after Jones, who is gliding backward diagonally across the ring and tossing up stiff head jabs, exhaling through his teeth with each one. Jones skips rightward off the ropes as Benmakhlouf zombies in on him with a high guard, jaw nestled into the crook of his elbows, obscuring his view. Jones is leaning over at long range and peering up at Benmakhlouf, hands dangling by his ankles. Jones puts up long jabs, baiting. Benmakhlouf presses forward and smothers Jones on the ropes, throwing light uppercuts at the body and slashing down at him with both hands. Jones slips punches and grabs Benmakhlouf, pulling him into a crocodile death roll to neutralize him on the ropes. Fast combo to the body leaping forward by Jones as Benmakhlouf backs out to center ring. Double jab up top by Jones.

Round 3

Jones is putting together quick left hooks and right hands, aiming up at Benmakhlouf's head. Benmakhlouf down by the ropes!! Less than a minute in. Plenty of time on the clock. Benmakhlouf rises and starts moving forward to clinch. Jones rattles off fast power combinations before they press together, Benmakhlouf leaning down and bringing his full weight to bear atop Jones. Benmakhlouf is clubbing at Jones with the right hand when he straightens up for air briefly after pushing down on him with both arms, digging his elbows into Jones' chest. A clinch is broken and Jones lands an accidental rabbit punch on the break. Benmakhlouf is down and hurt. The ref makes clear about it being not a knockdown and an accidental foul.

At the end? No. Jones scored a knockdown around thirty seconds in, but when Benmakhlouf went down later with only moments left it was ruled a non-intentional rabbit punch on the break.

 

Round 4

Hooks on the body by Jones, leaning to his left while stepping back to avoid the leaning/smothering clinches of the relative giant. Big combos by Jones, opening up while scuffing his feet, pushing up with his forearms against the encroaching Benmakhlouf whose aim is to grind Jones' arms down and press him onto the ropes. Jones keeps them in the middle of the ring and explodes with hooks and uppercuts, finding weak spots in Benmakhlouf's guard up close and overwhelming him with speed and volume, all power shots. The ref splits them apart. Jones backs out and jabs. Benmakhlouf moves in and tries to trap Jones on the ropes but Jones reaches out and plants a palm on either shoulder, steadying himself and turning Benmakhlouf while he takes a long step outside.
