Ali and Louis are the top 2 contenders for greatest

But in terms of h2h ability, Lennox wins it hands down. Followed up by guys like Ali/Vitali/etc

Doesn't have to be. Some people equate "best" with the most talented and "greatest" with the strongest resume/career.

I voted Ali but that doesnt necessarily mean he would beat all the others head-to-head

Boxing would not be half the sport it is today, if there was no Mohammed Ali. Not only was Ali the greatest boxer, but next to Jack Johnson, also the greatest personality in boxing history.
No one else comes close. Not even Lennox Lewis.

Name one great fighter that he beat in their prime.

Edit: And while I do agree he beat some great fighters, regardless of being past prime, it is not enough to be greatest.

Most people will say Ali. But Lewis would have beaten Ali, so surely that makes him the greatest?

Muhammed Ali is the most overrated boxer of all time.

    - Ali lost to Leon Spinks, who had just 8 pro fights.

    - knocked out by a light heavyweight, Henry Cooper.

    - robbed Jimmy Young.

    - lost to Frazier once officially, was going to quit in another Frazier fight

    - lost to Ken Norton once officially.

    - had his shady judges rob Ken Norton.

    - was knocked down by clubfighter Chuck Wepner

    - had title defenses against limited opponents like Jean-Pierre Coopman

    - fought an old shot Floyd Patterson in 1972

    - lost to Trevor Berbick (Ali was 8 yrs younger than Archie Moore was when they fought in 1962)

    - fought weak opponents like Juergen Blin

    H2H and resume... Lennox Lewis.

if anyone thinks it's Ali, put all their fights side by side and compare the quality. and Ali lost a good handful of his as well ( a few of them were robberies )

    it's Lewis all day.
