Maximiliano Gaston Mujica vs. Pablo Martin Roldan, 6 rounds @ middleweight

 

According to comment #1 (voted a top comment, not first or most recent chronologically) she wrote this about Cat Stevens.

IB Funfact:

She wrote "You're So Vain" about ****** Beatty...and he did indeed think it was about him before he even found out for sure that it was.



IB Bonus Funfact:

68 or not, I would totally still have a fling with Carly on the off chance of joining that pantheon with Cat & ****** and having a song penned about me. (whether of the sweet flattering variety or not, doesn't really matter)

 

Observations:

This ring is ridiculously slippery.

Mujica is a hot mess.


He went down in round three while Roldan was pummeling him as his feet gave out from under him on a wet spot. The ref had it wiped down and ruled it a slip.

Then in the fourth Mujica complained of a headbutt (which did occur) in the midst of a barrage from Roldan and bought himself recovery time while on the verge of being legitimately knocked down...and nearly slipping on the still-wet canvas while clumsily making his slow and gangly retreat.

Then in the fifth he gets legitimately knocked down and gets up only to march into Roldan attempting to clinch and intentionally headbutting, with no defensive overtures, getting cracked in the jaw with looping rights and nearly falling but for a grab onto Roldan.


Then he quits on his stool instead of answering the bell for the sixth...then changes his mind and yells at the ref for having already called it off based on his own spoken forfeiture moments earlier...and then storms out of the ring.

The first of his career, in his fifteenth professional bout.

He is lucky Mujica is such a goddamn hot mess.

He somehow managed to become the first to stop Mujica, who somehow made it through eight prior bouts without going fully spastic and quitting/getting disqualified/getting KTFO. :huh In fact, he was 5-1-2 (4).
